The lifeguard service has finished for this year, 2026. A wet end to a very busy season.
There are currently no lifeguards patrolling at Aberavon, Langland, Caswell, Three Cliffs, Port Eynon, or Pembrey.
This season has been our busiest yet, with record temperatures and record numbers of visitors on the beaches. The lifeguard service has dealt with hundreds of incidents, including rescues, lives saved, and major first aid incidents. That is not to mention the massive amount of minor first aid, preventative actions, and other interventions. We are massively proud of what the team has achieved this season.
Many of the team will now return to education, employment in different sectors, or continue their lifeguard duties abroad.
The lifeguards have worked tirelessly to keep people safe this season, and we are really grateful for the help of all the external agencies that have supported us.
A gentle reminder that there are no lifeguards on patrol.
If you see anyone in difficulty, call 999.
If you are in the water and get into difficulty, do not panic—FLOAT on your back.
Stay safe 💧
