We always thought we had a good story to tell. Now we’re starting to see just how much interest there is in it.

This week has been pretty special as our story gained significant media coverage, including features in Motorcycle News and Visordown as well as support from on social media.

What started as an idea on the drive home from ABR Festival is now attracting real attention and that gives us something tangible to show potential partners.

So, we’re now looking for a Title Sponsor.

We’re looking for a brand that wants to be part of the adventure and the story, with opportunities for exposure across the journey, media coverage and the content we create along the way.

We already have some fantastic support behind us. Now we’re looking for the right partner to help take this to the next level.
If you’re interested, or know a business that could be a great fit, we’d love an introduction.

One conversation could make a huge difference.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us so far. 🏍️

This is a very proud moment for us.

We are so pleased to share the news that Honda Motorcycles have joined us for this adventure.

Their reliability, service network and support is second to none and will be a vital part in our Guinness World Records attempt.

🌍 One journey.

Two generations. One incredible adventure.

We're proud to partner with OliMoto as they prepare for a record-breaking 19,000-mile ride around the world in 2027. Riding a Honda NX500 with E-Clutch and a CB125R, father and son Joe and Oli will take on multiple continents, inspire young people to dream big, and raise funds for Save the Children along the way.

The adventure starts now. 🏍️✨

🚨BIG NEWS TOMORROW 🚨

Our biggest announcement yet is landing in Motorcycle News tomorrow! 🏍️

MCN has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up seeing my dad read it, copies in the work canteen and on the dashboard of the works van. It is and always has been the place to go for the latest motorbike news.

So to now see our own news in MCN is a pretty special feeling.

I am too late to share this moment with my dad, but being able to share it with my son makes it very special. ❤️

And now, with less than 300 days until departure, the countdown is well and truly on.

Want to know what we’ve been up to?
Go and buy a copy of MCN tomorrow.

Shirlaw's Ltd banners from all locations ☺️
Our sponsors believe in us so we want to make sure we give them a reason to.

When a company chooses to support you, they are putting their trust, reputation and investment behind you. Whether it’s at an event, creating content or just representing the brand as we are out and about, we have a responsibility to make that support worthwhile.

From the outset we wanted to set a good standard for what can happen when businesses and individuals work together and create partnerships not a just transactional relationship.

On that note, thank you Shirlaw's Ltd.
We are proud to have displayed your banner at the Aberdeen Performance Car Show, ABR Festival, Castle Fraser Car Show and D2D, and we’ll continue to display it whenever we get the opportunity.

We genuinely appreciate your support and the trust you’ve placed in us.

A very special message we received from Dwayne Fields Chief Scout encouraging oliMoto’s journey.

'Scouting is really proud to support Oli as he prepares for this amazing adventure. As an Explorer Scout, Oli demonstrates the kind of enthusiasm, determination and sense of adventure that Scouting is all about. Riding a motorcycle around the world is a huge challenge and as the journey progresses, he'll be gaining skills and making connections with our global Scouting family.

Oli's journey will show other young people what can be achieved when you are prepared to set yourself a big goal and work hard to make it happen. It is also great to see Oli using the adventure to support others by raising money for Save the Children International along the way. This reflects the Scout promise to help other people - thinking beyond ourselves and helping those less fortunate. I wish Oli every success with his preparations and look forward to following his progress as he takes on this remarkable challenge.'

A huge thank you to Dwayne and everyone across The Scouts for getting behind Oli and supporting him as this adventure takes shape.

Day 1 of learning to ride a 125cc with 121 MotoSkills and what a great start 🔥
Thanks to Pete for making it such a fun and enjoyable experience. Oli loved the upgrade from his 50cc bike! Looking forward to more training in October. 🏍️

£2000! It might just be a number on a fundraising page but behind that number are people who have chosen to believe in what we’re doing and help us make a difference.

That makes this milestone pretty special. We’re now 10% of the way towards our fundraising goal for Save the Children International, and we couldn’t have got here without everyone who has donated, shared our posts, supported the journey or simply stopped to ask how it’s going.

There’s still a long way to go but knowing there are people behind us makes every mile that little bit more meaningful. £2,000 down, 90% to go. Let’s keep going. A massive thank you to everyone who has helped us get this far. If you would like to contribute, the donation link is attached below.

Thursday 3rd October was another big day for Oli as he took his Motorcycle Theory and Hazard Perception Tests and another opportunity for a bit of father-son competitiveness!

But the current system seems a little illogical to us?

Would it not be safer to have to pass the Theory and Hazard Perception Tests before you’re allowed to ride on the road?
Currently, most motorcycle riders complete a CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) course and can then ride with L-plates until they are 19, when they can take the full set of tests (Theory, Hazard Perception, Mod 1 and Mod 2) and ride a bike up to 47 bhp.
That potentially means three years of riding on the road after just one, or at most two, days of basic training, before having to demonstrate the full range of knowledge and skills required to progress.
But, did Oli beat Joe?
The scores to beat, from when Joe took the tests around five years ago, were:
🏆 Theory: 49/50
🏆 Hazard Perception: 71/75
To pass, you need at least 43 and 44 respectively.
Joe admits this is probably his best-ever chances of beating Oli in any test!
Fortunately for family harmony it was a draw with Oli winning the Theory but Joe staying ahead in the Hazard Perception.
💯 Theory: 50/50
🔥 Hazard Perception: 64/75
Well done Oli, another step closer to your A1 Bike License.
