FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) is the LAW. So when Columbus County failed to follow the law, they had to pay almost $75,000 in legal fees for a news paper. This is your county which is in financial trouble, pi***ng away money.

We should be able to have public officials arrested for stupidity!!

We have the documents to prove they lied (more than once). Mayor Harper and ex town manager Al Leonard lied. They claimed they needed the land in the Industrial park for a parking lot due to so many people working out there. Truth was, the building has never had that many cars parked in the existing lot, we went out numerous times and saw no cars or maybe 2. THEY LIED.

We have documents from the county manager proving there as never a deal to do the parking lot, Harper and Leonard claimed the county was going to help pay for it - THEY LIED.

They claimed they needed a parking lot - THEY LIED.
The land in question was almost 5 acres, how big of a parking lot did they think they needed? 5 acres - really.

Why did Harper let Leonard do this? It's your tax money, maybe you should ask them.

Hey Mayor Harper, how much is this 4th renovation going to cost?

The new incubator recommended by the Engineering firm you paid money to, was to put up a new building. NEW, contract signed, building up, finished - DONE. Who in their right mind would try to renovate a 100 year old building on the budget you had? This has to be the stupidest bone headed idiotic decision in the history of IDIOTS.

Royce Harper and Al Leonard lied about needing a parking lot in the industrial part so Al Leonard could move the business incubator to this location, near where he owned over 50% of the buildings. Guess why?? THEY LIED. THEY GOT CAUGHT.

Hey, I've got an idea, how bout don't spend money like a drunk sailor? How bout we save a little for a rainy day, or how about reducing our water bills or sewer bill? Give back to the tax payers?

So we asked the Tabor City Town Manager Josh Ward why the new Dog Tethering Ordinance is not being enforced. Here was his answer:

"No documents are provided for Item 3 as the town does not interpret records or deem records as having explanatory value in response to a public records request."

What? What does that even mean? I've been speaking English for most of my life and that response makes no sense to me.

Can someone on Town Council offer to explain what that means? (ok I know what it means, it means they are too Chicken to enforce it).
