🍏Message from legend Mateo Lewis, one of our CJ ‘core’ team 🍎
“Hey Friends
Let me take a morsel of your time to tell you about Community Juice Gloucestershire and ask for your support.
We make delicious apple juice using locally-donated fruit which is then sold in collaboration with our amazing community partners to support their work.
We are a charity, and our mission is to bring people together from different cultural backgrounds to connect them with the tasty fruit and traditional orchards of Gloucestershire.
All proceeds of our sales, beyond the costs of running the operation, go to our community partners, and support the running of events that bring people to the beauty of local orchards where they can connect with nature.
This year, we've supported three partner organisations - a veteran's support network, a community centre and a charity supporting refugees and asylum seekers.
I'm so amazed to see how only a small crew of people based at Days Cottage, our home orchard, have gone from pressing a few apples last year to developing meaningful relationships with our community partners, selling at theirs events, hosting an online shop, with a fully fledged branded juice (which you can buy right now!) with labels inspired and designed by our community partners.
Now we are asking for help to support our next phase. We need money to fund (1) the production of more juice in autumn of 2026 and (2) the hosting of more community juicing events, trainings and crafts.
If you have a quid to spare, please consider supporting us via our GoFundMe page: https://tinyurl.com/CJCrowdFund
AND if you want to buy and drink our juice (trust me - you do) then you can visit our online shop: https://openfoodnetwork.org.uk/community-juice/shop
And don't hesitate to get in touch with me directly if you want to find out more about the project ...
