27 September World
Tourism Day!
About World Tourism Day
Tourism is often highlighted for its role in economic development. But it is more than that. Tourism can be a catalyst for social progress, supporting education, employment, cultural exchange and creating new opportunities for local communities.
However, tourism requires more than growth alone. To unlock its full potential, a deliberate and inclusive approach is essential—one that places sustainability, resilience, cultural heritage and social equity at the heart of tourism development and decision-making.
The theme “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation” highlights tourism’s potential to become an agent of positive change. Sustainable tourism can help protect natural and cultural heritage while creating meaningful economic opportunities for communities and encouraging responsible travel.
Our Event in Prizren
To mark World Tourism Day, NGO Sharri Wildlife is organizing a special guided city experience in Prizren, bringing together cultural heritage, sustainable tourism, local traditions and gastronomy.
The activity will provide participants with an opportunity to discover important cultural sites while discussing how tourism can contribute to the long-term sustainable development of Prizren and Kosovo.
