HAPU - Festival i Artit në Hapësirë Publike HAPU Festival is a unique festival of art work in public space presenting innovative work developed

HAPU Festival, which in Albanian means OPEN UP and at the same time represents abbreviation for "HApësirë PUblike", in English: Public Space, is a unique festival of art work in public space presenting innovative work developed in Kosovo and wider, undiscovered for Kosovar audiences. HAPU using the power of art gives a different, transformable dimension to the Public Space. Our philosophy of the creation for public spaces is more thorough approach by artistically researching the meaning of the city for its citizens, the meaning of the landscape or a cityscape for its inhabitants and its visitors with artistic creations providing another point of view by inviting the audience to experience a different experience, an artistic journey in the spaces they are present or pass by very often in their daily life.

CONGRATULATIONS !

Following the Open Call #2, which supported 49 artistic creations from across Europe, 10 emerging artists from 9 countries have now entered the Production Support Programme.

This second phase offers a tailored pathway of artistic development, including residencies, mentoring opportunities, and international dissemination across a diverse network of festivals and cultural venues throughout Europe.

We are delighted to accompany these artists as they bring their projects to the next stage of creation and visibility.

Save the date: the selected projects will be presented at IN SITU FOCUS #2, taking place in August 2027 during HAPU - Festival i Artit në Hapësirë Publike organised by Teatri ODA in Pristina, Kosovo.

The discussion aimed to elaborate and examine the ways in which art is created and how it is treated in public spaces in Kosova. How accessible are public spaces for artistic and cultural interventions, and how we, as citizens of Kosova treat public space that is supposed to be used by and for the public.

Përtej protokollit të ecjes – mes turpit dhe trupit (Punë në progres) në HAPU 2026

Një trup kalon qytetin pa ecur. Artistja Diona Kusari, shoqëruar nga performuesja Arbnora Ademi, transverzoni qytetin nga një pikë në tjetrën, pa ecur në mënyrë konvencionale.

Performanca shpërfaqi një koreografi sociale të inskenuar në shtigjet urbane të qytetit. Këto shtigje transformohen në një laborator, ku testohen kufijtë e turpit, vëzhgimit, normës dhe parashikueshmërisë. Secili devijim nga ecja konvencionale prodhon koreografinë e padukshme të jetës publike në hapësirën publike: pritshmërinë, (para)gjykimet si dhe marrëdhënien mes vet trupit dhe të qenit të vëzhguar.

Performanca përfundon duke lënë gjurmët e ecjes të instaluara përkohësisht si trashëgimi e këtij protokolli të ecjes, të trupit, të trupit. Kjo performancë është pjesë e projektit "Bindje, gjasë dhe anim: ushtrime në pleksjen kuantike”, i cili hulumton reagimet e kushtëzuara, sjelljet automatike dhe paragjykimet që strukturojnë përvojën tonë në hapësirën publike.

Prishtinës gjatë edicionit të dymbëdhjetë të festivalit HAPU ju bashkuan disa heroina. Kur kriza klimatike ka mbetur diku mes një pranimi të heshtur dhe një zhurme apokaliptike, kur të tjerët dorëzohen, KRA erdhi në Prishtinë me misionin e vet: kësaj herë, kundër krizës klimatike. Ndërsa qytetarët e Prishtinës ju bashkuan KRA duke u bërë pjesë e filmit të tyre të parë Aksion duke xhiruar nëpër hapësirat e Pallatit të Rinisë.

Përmes humorit, lojës dhe aksionit, KRA ekploroi mitet e heronjve të vjetër, dëshirën e madhe për zgjidhje të thjeshta si dhe idetë e burrërisë që ende ndikojnë në mënyrën se si e imagjinojmë ndryshimin.

Some photos from the performance “Mission Arnold Schwarzenegger” by KRA during the HAPU 2026 festival

Some heroines joined Prishtina during the twelfth edition of the HAPU festival. When the climate crisis has remained somewhere between a silent acceptance and an apocalyptic roar, when others give up, KRA came to Prishtina with its own mission: this time, against the climate crisis. While the citizens of Prishtina joined KRA by becoming part of their first action film, shooting in the spaces of the Youth Palace.

Through humor, play and action, KRA explored the myths of old heroes, the great desire for simple solutions and the ideas of manhood that still influence the way we imagine change.

Misioni Arnold Schwarzenegger vazhdoi rrugëtimin, ndërsa Përtej protokollit të ecjes – mes turpit dhe trupit na ftoi ta shohim qytetin përmes një tjetër perspektive.

Mission Arnold Schwarzenegger continued its journey, while Beyond the Walking Protocol – Between Shame and Body invited us to see the city from another perspective.

Një këngëtare britanike që jeton në Shqipëri, Sara Paymán, vjen në HAPU, me një repertor që shkrinë këngët e vjetra shqiptare me interpretimin e saj plot elegancë dhe emocione. Sara ka një pasion të madh për muzikën e vjetër shqiptare dhe do ta hap këtë pasion me ne, duke interpretuar këto këngë të bukura, me pjesëmarrësit e pjesëmarrëset e Festivalit dhe me publikun. Kështu, do të festojmë mbylljen e këtij edicioni për të lënë takim vitin e ardhshëm për një edicion special të HAPU që e organizojmë së bashku me artistët e përzgjedhur të platformës IN SITU...

A British singer living in Albania, Sara Paymán, comes to HAPU, with a repertoire that blends old Albanian songs with her own interpretation, full of elegance and emotions. Sara has a great passion for old Albanian music and will share this passion with us, performing these beautiful songs with the participants of the Festival and with the public. Thus, we will celebrate the closing of this edition to meet next year for a special edition of HAPU that we organize together with selected artists of the IN SITU platform. We welcome you!
