Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe (“Help for Self-Help”) is a German-based humanitarian and development organisation active in Kosovo since 2001, resuming operations in 2015. Once being active after the war in 1999, Help has resumed its operations in the Republic of Kosovo in May 2015, providing socio-economic assistance for vulnerable individuals. The overall objective of the projects is to contribute to the sustainable development and the stability in targeted areas with the main focus on the economic empowerment.

Help Kosovo Celebrates German Unity Day

On 8 October 2026, Help Kosovo was honored to attend the reception marking the Day of German Unity, hosted by the German Ambassador to Kosovo, H.E. Rainer Rudolph, in Prishtina.

In his address, Ambassador Rudolph highlighted the deep friendship and longstanding ties between Germany and Kosovo, reaffirming Germany’s commitment to Kosovo’s European future. He encouraged Kosovo to take a more active role in contributing to European peace and stability, while expressing particular confidence in its younger generation as future citizens of the European Union.

For Help Kosovo, as a German humanitarian and development organisation with a longstanding presence in the country, this occasion was particularly meaningful. It was an opportunity to celebrate the partnership between Germany and Kosovo and reflect on our shared commitment to economic development, entrepreneurship, employment opportunities and stronger local communities.

Strong interest and participation at our information session held today, 7 October, at the Municipality of Lipjan, bringing together more than 50 participants to learn about opportunities for business development, skills enhancement, and employment.

Organized under the project “Jobs and Skills for Migration Prevention in Kosovo,” the session provided practical information on the Call for Applications, eligibility criteria, and the application process. Participants also had the opportunity to raise questions and receive clarifications on the available support and application requirements.

The project is implemented by Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe, with the support of the German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) and in cooperation with the Municipality of Lipjan.

The strong turnout reflects the high level of local interest in opportunities that support entrepreneurship, employment, and sustainable economic development.

Strong interest and participation in our information session in Gjilan, bringing together more than 60 participants, including 39 women, to explore opportunities for business development, skills enhancement, and employment.

Organized under the project “Jobs and Skills for Migration Prevention in Kosovo,” the session provided practical information on:

• Equipment grants for starting or expanding a business
• Eligibility criteria and the application process
• Vocational and entrepreneurship training
• Business mentoring and advisory support

The project is implemented by Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe, with the support of the German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) and in cooperation with the Municipality of Gjilan.

The high level of participation reflects the strong local demand for opportunities that support entrepreneurship, employment, and sustainable economic development.

We are pleased to announce a new cooperation between Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe and the Municipality of Lipjan under the project “Jobs and Skills for Migration Prevention in Kosovo,” funded by BAMF.
Through this partnership, selected grantees in Lipjan will receive equipment support of up to €2,500, together with training, mentoring, and advisory services to help them establish or further develop their businesses.

We are pleased to share that Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe and the Municipality of Gjilan have signed a Cooperation Agreement under the project “Jobs and Skills for Migration Prevention in Kosovo,” funded by BAMF.

We are pleased to announce that Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe e.V., Kosovo, has been awarded a grant by the German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) and has officially begun implementing the project “Jobs and Skills for Migration Prevention in Kosovo.”
The project will support 100 grantees through business equipment grants, entrepreneurship and vocational training, and mentoring.
Our goal is to strengthen local businesses, create employment opportunities and contribute to sustainable economic development.
