YMCA Kosovo We are part of the oldest organisation in the world, YMCA was created in 1844 in London, England. We also operate NGO shops and other community initiatives.

The YMCA is a global movement in 120 countries reaching 65 million people worldwide. The YMCA in Kosovo focuses on working with young people through diverse youth empowerment programs and supporting local communities where we are based. The head office is based in Pristina with other program offices around Kosovo.

🌍 Happy International Youth Day! 💙

Today, YMCA Kosovo was pleased to participate in an important event marking International Youth Day, bringing together institutions, young people, civil society organizations, development partners and UN agencies to discuss the mental health and psychosocial well-being of children and young people in Kosovo.

The event also marked the launch of the report “Mapping Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Services for Children and Young People in Kosovo,” developed by the Institute of Psychology of the University of Prishtina in partnership with UNICEF.

Mental health is an essential part of young people’s well-being and development. Yet many children and young people continue to face anxiety, emotional distress, bullying, violence and other challenges that can affect their lives, education and future.

At YMCA Kosovo, we believe that young people need to be heard, supported and empowered. Through our programmes, including HeadSpace in Kosovo and across the region, we continue working with young people and partners to create safe spaces, strengthen well-being and promote access to support.

Today is also a reminder that supporting young people’s mental health cannot be the responsibility of one institution or organization alone. It requires stronger partnerships, investment in youth services, and meaningful cooperation between institutions, civil society, communities and young people themselves.

On this International Youth Day, let’s celebrate young people not only for their potential, but also by making sure they have the support they need to thrive.

Akterë të shoqërisë civile u takuan për të diskutuar rreth qëndrueshmërisë financiare të OJQ-ve, bashkëpunimit mes rrjeteve dhe planeve të ardhshme sebashku.

Diskutimi u fokusua edhe në koordinimin për avokim të përbashkët, në mënyrë që zëri i shoqërisë civile të jetë më i unifikuar dhe ndikimi më i madh në çështjet që prekin sektorin dhe shoqërinë në përgjithësi.

Every leader has a story and every story has a beginning. This one starts with a new vision, a familiar mission, and the responsibility of leading YMCA Kosovo into its next chapter.

Introducing your new General Secretary Adi Davies, from the UK. Adrian has been with the YMCA for over 20 years serving at local, national, area and international levels.

His YMCA journey started at a young age, fast-forward a few chapters (and probably a few plot twists), and that journey has brought him to the head of our movement in Kosovo.

We wish him success as he starts this new role.
