RIT Kosovo was pleased to welcome Mr. Hiroyasu Tanigaki, Chargé d’Affaires of Japan, alongside Ms. Mana Tanaka and Ms. Edita Bucinca, for a conversation on strengthening connections between Japan and Kosovo through education, research, and institutional cooperation.

The meeting brought together perspectives on Japan–Kosovo relations, academic collaboration, peace and conflict studies, and opportunities for RIT Kosovo to contribute as a platform for dialogue and international cooperation.

We were also pleased to be joined by Dr. Arbenita Sopaj, author of Shaping Constitutions: America’s Role in Japan and Kosovo, whose academic work reflects the broader historical and constitutional connections between Japan, Kosovo, and the United States.

Meaningful dialogue creates opportunities for meaningful cooperation.

RIT Kosovo looks forward to building on this exchange and exploring new opportunities for collaboration with Japan.

It was a pleasure to welcome Ylli Bajraktari, President and CEO of the Special Competitive Studies Project (SCSP), and Ylber Bajraktari, Senior Policy Advisor at SCSP, to RIT Kosovo!

Hosted by our President, Dr. Balidemaj-Basha, and Chief Development Officer, Mr. Gashi, the visit was a great opportunity to catch up, exchange ideas, and talk about our growing collaboration with SCSP, including the ongoing National Security Innovation Council (NSIC) initiative.

We recently held a Pre-Departure Orientation Session for 22 students preparing to embark on an exciting semester abroad — ready to learn, explore new cultures, build international connections, and create experiences that will last a lifetime.

RIT Kosovo was pleased to host the official opening ceremony of the 10th Cohort of the OriginAL program, welcoming young Albanians from the diaspora as they begin a meaningful journey of connection, discovery, and cultural exchange.

The ceremony brought together participants, representatives of GERMIN, distinguished guests, and supporters of the program. RIT Kosovo President Dr. Albina Balidemaj-Basha welcomed participants through a video message, while Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo Albin Kurti highlighted the importance of strengthening the diaspora’s connection with Albanian history, culture, and identity.

As Cohort 10 begins its journey across Kosovo and Albania, participants will take part in experiences designed to bring them closer to the people, places, culture, and heritage of their roots.

We are proud to have welcomed the OriginAL community to RIT Kosovo and wish Cohort 10 an inspiring and memorable journey!

We were pleased to welcome Gino Mulliqi and Blerina Krasniqi for a meaningful conversation focused on strengthening our partnership and exploring opportunities to expand their support for RIT Kosovo (A.U.K.).

Gino has been a valued supporter and advocate of RIT Kosovo, helping strengthen our connections with the Albanian-American community in Texas and introducing us to community leaders who have contributed to supporting our students.

During our meeting, we reflected on this journey and discussed opportunities to build on this collaboration through future initiatives, community engagement, and expanded support for student scholarships.

We are grateful to Gino and Blerina for their continued belief in our mission and look forward to growing this partnership and its impact together.

RIT Kosovo’s Chief Development Officer and Director of the Peace and Conflict Summer Program, Brigadier General (Ret.) Xhavit Gashi, met with U.S. Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa for a warm and productive discussion on education, institutional cooperation, and the enduring partnership between Kosovo and the United States.

Senator Ernst has long been a steadfast friend and supporter of Kosovo and a strong advocate for the Kosovo–Iowa relationship. Her leadership has contributed significantly to strengthening the Kosovo–Iowa State Partnership Program and advancing the close ties between the people and institutions of Kosovo and the United States.

During the meeting, General Gashi expressed RIT Kosovo’s deep appreciation for Senator Ernst’s continued support and discussed the university’s important role in providing high-quality American education, developing Kosovo’s future leaders, and building lasting academic and professional connections with partners across the United States.

RIT Kosovo looks forward to further strengthening its relationships in Iowa and throughout the United States and to creating new opportunities that benefit our students, faculty, alumni, and the wider community.

We sincerely thank Senator Ernst for her friendship, leadership, and continued commitment to Kosovo and its young people.
