🚀Business Innovation Academy- Turning Business Challenges into Innovation Opportunities

✅On 5 May, we successfully concluded the first cohort of the Innovation Academy with a final Demo Day event that brought together innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaboration in action.

🏢 Over the past 5 months, 14 businesses participating in the Academy thoroughly analysed their business models and identified real business challenges and innovation needs within their companies.

🤝In response, 20 startups worked intensively to design and develop more than 30 innovative solutions addressing 15 concrete challenges presented by the businesses.

💡 The Demo Day was more than a pitching event — it was a practical demonstration of how collaboration between SMEs and startups can accelerate innovation, digital transformation, and problem-solving in Kosovo.

🎤 From process improvement and customer experience to digital solutions with AI and new business opportunities, startups showcased creative and impactful ideas tailored to the needs of local businesses.

🤝 This journey highlighted the importance of open innovation models, where corporates and startups work together to co-create solutions, exchange knowledge, and build long-term partnerships that strengthen the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem.

👏 A big thank you to all businesses, startups, mentors, and trainers: Safet Rama, Arta Istrefi, Krasniqi, Berisha, and Piraj, partners, and supporters who contributed to making the Innovation Academy a success.

🚀 Open Innovation in Action: Businesses & Startups Solving Real Challenges Together

This week, as part of the Innovation Academy, we successfully organized a dynamic 2-day co-creation workshop bringing together:
✅ 14 businesses – members of the Innovation Academy
✅ 20 startups
✅ A shared ambition to innovate through collaboration

During the workshop, participating businesses presented 15 real business challenges they are currently facing. Startups then worked directly with them to explore fresh ideas, practical solutions, and new growth opportunities.

💡 This initiative reflects the power of the Open Innovation Model — the idea that companies do not need to innovate alone. Instead of relying only on internal teams and resources, businesses can accelerate innovation by collaborating with external innovators such as startups, entrepreneurs, students, experts, and technology providers.

Through this approach, businesses gain:
🔹 Faster access to new ideas
🔹 Agile problem-solving methods
🔹 Fresh market perspectives
🔹 Innovative products, services, and processes
🔹 Potential partnerships for future growth

For startups, it creates direct access to real market needs, pilot opportunities, and valuable partnerships with established companies.

🚀 Day 4 of the Innovation Academy — Designing Real Customer Value

Last week in the Academy, the focus shifted to one of the most practical and powerful innovation tools: the Value Proposition Canvas. Participants learned how to systematically analyze their customer segments by mapping:

🛠️ Pain Relievers
✨ Gain Creators

The core message is clear: innovation is human-centered and value-driven. It starts by deeply understanding your customers — what they are trying to achieve, what frustrates them, and what success looks like from their perspective. Only then can businesses design products and services that truly remove pains and create meaningful gains. 🎯

Strong innovation begins with strong customer insight — and that is exactly the capability our teams are building step by step.
