The Public Diplomacy Section of the U.S. Embassy in Pristina, in cooperation with KUSA, organized a KUSA Alumni Talk focused on “The Role of the Constitutional Court in Safeguarding Rule of Law and Democratic Governance.” The discussion brought together legal experts, representatives of judicial institutions, policymakers, alumni, and members of the broader legal and academic community to examine the growing importance of constitutional oversight in Kosovo’s democratic development. The event served as a platform for constructive dialogue on institutional responsibility, separation of powers, and the balance between political decision-making and judicial review.

KUSA Alumni Highlight: A Fulbright Journey in Ethical Actor Training

Meet Prof. Dr. Marigona Bekteshi Ferati, a theatre academic and Assistant Professor from Mitrovica, who, through the Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program, spent a transformative period at the Stella Adler Academy of Acting & Theatre in Los Angeles, USA. Her research explored ethical approaches to actor training, focusing on imagination-based methodologies as an alternative to trauma-centered practices. During her exchange, she collaborated with leading professionals, contributed to teaching and stage productions, and strengthened her research and pedagogical skills while expanding her international academic network. Inspired by Stella Adler’s philosophy “use imagination, not personal memories” her work emphasizes ethical responsibility and the integration of theory into practice.

The impact of her Fulbright journey continues through her work in Kosovo, where she is leading the development of a new Bachelor program in Dramatic Arts and mentoring young artists through contemporary, ethically grounded methodologies. She has advanced her postdoctoral research, served as a peer reviewer, and strengthened collaborations across Europe and the United States, while actively engaging in international conferences and initiatives. Now back in Kosovo, she applies her experience to empower the next generation and promote global academic exchange, reflecting her belief that “Fulbright is not just an academic exchange, it is a transformative journey that empowers meaningful impact.”
