NPA Kosovo – Annual All-Staff Meeting 2026

Today, the NPA Kosovo team came together for our annual all-staff meeting – an opportunity to look back at what we have achieved so far in 2026, reflect on the challenges we face, and, most importantly, look ahead.

The meeting opened with an update from the Country Director on the progress and achievements made during the year so far, followed by discussions on our priorities for the remaining months of 2026 and our plans and ambitions for 2027.

The formal discussions were followed by a BBQ – giving colleagues the opportunity to reflect on the many activities and achievements of the past months, but also to simply spend time together, share a meal and enjoy each other's company away from our daily work.

The humanitarian mine action programme in Kosovo is currently facing significant challenges. With our long-time partner, The HALO Trust, preparing to conclude its operations in Kosovo by the end of September 2026, NPA will become the only remaining international humanitarian mine action organization operating in the country.

This makes our commitment even more important. NPA Kosovo will continue its clearance operations for as long as there is a need and resources allow, working towards a Kosovo free from the threat of mines, cluster mu*****ns, and other explosive remnants of war.

At the same time, we will continue to build on our civil society work, supporting and engaging with communities and contributing to a more inclusive and resilient Kosovo.

We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to all our current and past donors for their invaluable support to NPA Kosovo and for their contribution to making our work possible over the years. 🇳🇴 🇳🇴, U.S. Embassy Pristina, Kosovo🇺🇸, European Union in Kosovo 🇪🇺, Embassy of Switzerland in Kosovo🇨🇭, Embassy of Japan in Kosovo 🇯🇵

The road ahead will not always be easy. But with a committed team, strong partnerships and a clear belief in the people and communities we serve, we will continue moving forward.

Always forward – beyond the horizon, and into the unknown.

We are very pleased to share a significant achievement: Task Area DA 2312 has now been successfully cleared, marking the completion of the clearance of all known Cluster Mu****on Remnants (CMR) areas in the Municipality of Gracanica.

Through this operation, our team located and safely removed a total of 1,029 hazardous items, including 25 cluster mu*****ns (CM), 993 unexploded ordnance (UXO), and 11 anti-personnel mines (AP).

The completion of this task makes previously contaminated land available for safe use, opening new opportunities for the municipality and local communities to develop the area, including future construction and infrastructure projects.

This achievement also represents a significant contribution towards the implementation of Kosovo's National Mine Action Completion Strategy, bringing the country one step closer to achieving its goal of a mine- and cluster munition-safe future.

This important milestone would not have been possible without the dedication, professionalism, and hard work of our mixed-gender, multi-ethnic teams. Their commitment and perseverance have helped create a safer environment for the people of Gracanica.

We thank everyone who contributed to this achievement and look forward to continuing our mission of making communities safer.

We also thank all our past and current donors:

Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming Ms. Sarabrynn Hudgins, Political-Military Officer, and Mr. Arianit Bllaca, Political-Military Advisor, from the United States Embassy in Pristina.

During their visit to the Kutllovc Task, we had the opportunity to present the achievements and long-term impact of activities that were previously supported through U.S. funding. The visit provided a valuable occasion to reflect on the progress made, share success stories, and demonstrate how past investments have contributed to sustainable results and lasting benefits for the local community.

We discussed the importance of international cooperation and highlighted the positive changes that have been achieved through strong partnerships and dedicated efforts on the ground. It was encouraging to showcase how the outcomes of these initiatives continue to serve the community and contribute to local development.

We also appreciated the presence of Mr. Atholl Stewart (HALO PM) and Mr. Egzon Ndrecaj (HALO OPS), who attended the visit and contributed to the discussions.

We sincerely thank Ms. Hudgins and Mr. Bllaca for taking the time to learn more about the achievements and ongoing impact of the work carried out at Kutllovc.
