BEAR SANCTUARY Prishtina Pylli i Arinjve Prishtina, strehimore për arinjtë e shpëtuar në Kosovë & Shqipëri. For many years, there was no law against keeping brown bears in Kosovo.

All privately kept brown bears lived in small cages at restaurants and were used to attract visitors. In November 2010, when it became illegal to keep bears privately, FOUR PAWS reacted immediately, offering the government our support in finding a species-appropriate home for these “restaurant bears”. According to the research conducted by our experts, fifteen brown bears were being kept under suc

h miserable conditions in Kosovo at this time. Thankfully, our negotiations led to quick results; a contract was drawn up, which authorized FOUR PAWS as the only organisation to keep brown bears in Kosovo. An agreement with the capital city, Prishtina, granted us the cost-free utilisation of a 16 hectare forest area.

The youngest puppy to join the gang of Liza & Luli at our sanctuary.

Want to hear his inspiring story?

A few weeks ago, while FP Board Members Josef and Luciana, together with FP Country Director Austria, Eva, were enjoying a walk through Prishtina’s main square, they were approached by a tiny stray puppy wandering alone. This little fellow walked straight toward them, as if he had already chosen his people. The connection was instant.

Seeing that he was alone on the streets, they couldn't leave him behind. That very evening, Josef was brought to our sanctuary, where he finally had a safe place to rest. The next morning, our veterinarian carried out all the necessary health checks and treatments, and Josef officially became part of the family.

Today, he is the definition of cuteness overload—playful, curious, and impossible not to love. He has already won the hearts of our visitors, who can never resist stopping to give him a cuddle and some extra attention.

From a stray puppy in Prishtina’s main square to a beloved member of our sanctuary family, Josef’s journey is a beautiful reminder that sometimes the smallest encounters can change a life forever❤️🐶

Këlyshi më i vogël që iu bashkua "bandës" të Lizës dhe Lulit në strehimoren tonë.

Para disa javësh, derisa anëtarët e Bordit të FOUR PAWS, Josef dhe Luciana, së bashku me Drejtoreshën e FOUR PAWS Austria, Eva, po shëtisnin në sheshin kryesor të Prishtinës, iu afrua një këlysh i vogël i braktisur që po sillej i vetëm rrugëve. Ky vogëlush eci drejt tyre sikur t’i kishte zgjedhur vetë njerëzit e tij. Lidhja ishte e menjëhershme.

Duke parë se ishte i vetëm në rrugë, ata nuk mund ta linin pas. Po atë mbrëmje, Josefi u soll në strehimoren tonë, ku më në fund gjeti një vend të sigurt për të pushuar. Të nesërmen në mëngjes, veterineri ynë kreu të gjitha kontrollet dhe trajtimet e nevojshme, dhe Josefi u bë zyrtarisht pjesë e familjes sonë.

Sot, ai është lozonjar, kureshtar dhe i parezistueshëm për të mos u dashur. Ai tashmë ka fituar zemrat e vizitorëve tanë, të cilët nuk mund t’i rezistojnë dëshirës për ta përkëdhelur dhe për t’i kushtuar pak vëmendje shtesë.

Nga një këlysh endacak në sheshin kryesor të Prishtinës në një anëtar të dashur të familjes sonë në strehimore, rrugëtimi i Josefit është një kujtesë e bukur se ndonjëherë takimet më të vogla mund të ndryshojnë një jetë përgjithmonë❤️🐶
