The American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo hosted the Workforce Development Coalition Dialogue, as part of its Workforce Development Initiative, supported by the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE).

The dialogue brought together coalition members, institutional representatives, and private sector stakeholders to discuss workforce development challenges and opportunities, with a focus on strengthening the alignment between education and labor market needs.

Opening the discussion, AmCham Executive Director A***n Zeka emphasized the importance of continued collaboration between the private sector and institutions in addressing workforce challenges and developing practical recommendations that support education reform and human capital development.

The discussion featured Lah Nitaj, Director of the Department for Vocational Education and Training at the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, who presented the Ministry’s priorities and ongoing reforms in vocational education and training.
Nitaj highlighted the importance of strengthening vocational education as a pathway for equipping young people with skills that respond to labor market demands. He also discussed developments in dual education, emphasizing the importance of closer cooperation between schools and businesses in providing students with practical experience and improving their transition into employment.

Participants discussed key issues related to increasing private sector engagement in dual education, adapting curricula to technological developments, and strengthening cooperation among institutions, businesses, and education providers to better address workforce needs.

The dialogue highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation between institutions, vocational schools, businesses, and development partners to support reforms in vocational education and build a more skilled and competitive workforce.

Oda Ekonomike Amerikane në Kosovë organizoi Dialogun e Koalicionit për Zhvillimin e Fuqisë Punëtore, në kuadër të Nismës për Zhvillimin e Fuqisë Punëtore, e mbështetur nga Qendra për Ndërmarrje Private Ndërkombëtare (CIPE).

Dialogu mblodhi anëtarë të koalicionit, përfaqësues të institucioneve dhe përfaqësues të sektorit privat për të diskutuar sfidat dhe mundësitë në zhvillimin e fuqisë punëtore, me fokus në forcimin e harmonizimit ndërmjet arsimit dhe nevojave të tregut të punës.

Duke hapur diskutimin, Drejtori Ekzekutiv i Odës Amerikane, A***n Zeka, theksoi rëndësinë e bashkëpunimit të vazhdueshëm ndërmjet sektorit privat dhe institucioneve për adresimin e sfidave të fuqisë punëtore dhe hartimin e rekomandimeve praktike që mbështesin reformën në arsim dhe zhvillimin e kapitalit njerëzor.

Në diskutim mori pjesë z. Lah Nitaj, Drejtor i Departamentit për Arsim dhe Aftësim Profesional në Ministrinë e Arsimit, Shkencës, Teknologjisë dhe Inovacionit, i cili prezantoi prioritetet e ministrisë dhe reformat në zhvillim në fushën e arsimit dhe aftësimit profesional.
Nitaj theksoi rëndësinë e forcimit të arsimit profesional si një rrugë për pajisjen e të rinjve me aftësi që i përgjigjen kërkesave të tregut të punës. Ai foli gjithashtu për zhvillimet në arsimin dual, duke vënë në pah rëndësinë e bashkëpunimit më të ngushtë ndërmjet shkollave dhe bizneseve për t’u ofruar nxënësve përvojë praktike dhe për të përmirësuar kalimin e tyre në punësim.

Pjesëmarrësit diskutuan çështje kyçe që lidhen me rritjen e angazhimit të sektorit privat në arsimin dual, përshtatjen e kurrikulave me zhvillimet teknologjike dhe forcimin e bashkëpunimit ndërmjet institucioneve, bizneseve dhe ofruesve të arsimit për t’iu përgjigjur më mirë nevojave të tregut të punës.

Dialogu theksoi rëndësinë e forcimit të bashkëpunimit ndërmjet institucioneve, shkollave profesionale, bizneseve dhe partnerëve zhvillimorë për të mbështetur reformat në arsimin profesional dhe për të ndërtuar një fuqi punëtore më të kualifikuar dhe më konkurruese.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo’s Future Leaders Club hosted a session featuring A***nit Fazliu, from Kutia and Member of the Board of Governors of AmCham Kosovo, who discussed the topic “AI in Business: Where AI Is Heading and How Your Business Should Adapt.”

During the session, Fazliu shared insights on the rapid development of Artificial Intelligence, its impact on business operations, and how organizations can prepare for an increasingly technology-driven future.

The discussion focused on the practical use of AI tools, the changes this technology is bringing to the workplace, and the importance of developing new skills for future professionals. Drawing on the AI-2027 forecast, Fazliu highlighted that AI is moving beyond being a technological trend and is becoming a key factor influencing how companies operate, structure teams, and create value.

Participants also discussed the importance of a responsible approach to AI adoption, where innovation is combined with human oversight, critical thinking, and clear processes to ensure effective use of technology.

Oda Ekonomike Amerikane në Kosovë, përmes Klubit të Liderëve të Ardhshëm, organizoi një sesion me pjesëmarrjen e A***nit Fazliu, nga Kutia dhe Anëtar i Bordit të Guvernatorëve të Odës Ekonomike Amerikane në Kosovë, i cili diskutoi temën “IA në Biznes: Ku po shkon Inteligjenca Artificiale dhe si duhet të përshtatet biznesi juaj”.

Gjatë sesionit, Fazliu ndau njohuri mbi zhvillimin e shpejtë të Inteligjencës Artificiale, ndikimin e saj në operacionet e biznesit dhe mënyrat se si organizatat mund të përgatiten për një të ardhme gjithnjë e më të orientuar drejt teknologjisë.

Diskutimi u fokusua në përdorimin praktik të mjeteve të IA-së, ndryshimet që kjo teknologji po sjell në vendin e punës, si dhe rëndësinë e zhvillimit të aftësive të reja për profesionistët e së ardhmes. Duke u bazuar në parashikimin IA-2027, Fazliu theksoi se Inteligjenca Artificiale po tejkalon të qenit vetëm një trend teknologjik dhe po shndërrohet në një faktor kyç që ndikon në mënyrën se si kompanitë operojnë, organizojnë ekipet dhe krijojnë vlerë.

Pjesëmarrësit diskutuan gjithashtu rëndësinë e një qasjeje të përgjegjshme ndaj adoptimit të IA-së, ku inovacioni kombinohet me mbikëqyrjen njerëzore, mendimin kritik dhe procese të qarta për të siguruar përdorim efektiv të teknologjisë.

Industry Day 2026 brought together representatives of the U.S. Army Balkan Area Support Group and members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo to explore opportunities for collaboration and strengthen business engagement.

Organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo in partnership with the U.S. Army Balkan Area Support Group, the event opened with remarks by Lieutenant Colonel Miguel Cisneros, Executive Officer of the U.S. Army Balkan Area Support Group at Camp Bondsteel.

Participating companies learned more about U.S. military procurement processes, exchanged insights, and discussed how their expertise and capabilities could support future collaboration.

Fifteen years ago, Mergim Prishtina embarked on the ambitious journey of building a pharmaceutical manufacturing company in Kosovo—an undertaking made especially challenging by the stringent regulatory and quality standards of the industry. Today, Trepharm stands as one of the country’s leading pharmaceutical manufacturers, having achieved EU GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) certification, confirming its compliance with the European Union’s rigorous pharmaceutical manufacturing and quality standards and enabling access to EU markets.

Beyond its business success, Trepharm plays an important role in strengthening Kosovo’s pharmaceutical manufacturing capabilities while employing more than 150 professionals across manufacturing, marketing, and distribution.

The Arbitration Center of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo, in partnership with the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) of the U.S. Department of Commerce, hosted a Business Roundtable focused on the future of commercial dispute resolution in Kosovo.

In her opening remarks, Aulonë Sinani, Secretary General of the Arbitration Center, highlighted the importance of strengthening alternative dispute resolution mechanisms and their role in fostering a more efficient and reliable business environment.
Zmarak Khan, Deputy Chief Counsel at the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) of the U.S. Department of Commerce, Matthew Drossos, Partner at White & Case, and Cristen Bauer, Director of External Affairs at the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Ciarb), shared their expertise and perspectives with members of the business community and arbitrators during an engaging discussion on the challenges, opportunities, and future development of arbitration and mediation in Kosovo.

The discussion provided a valuable platform for exchanging insights and exploring how alternative dispute resolution mechanisms can better serve the needs of the business community, contributing to a more predictable and business-friendly environment in Kosovo.

Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo, A***n Zeka, met with Ramiz Kelmendi, President of Elkos Group, and presented him with a Recognition in appreciation of 22 years of loyal membership, continued engagement, and steadfast support for AmCham.

The meeting focused on the state of Kosovo’s economy and governance, priorities for improving the country’s business environment, and opportunities to further strengthen cooperation in support of private sector growth.
