What do we do? Room for Growth is an education-and-employment, school-to-career nonprofit organization with a clear purpose. Everything we do, we do with the goal of transforming lives through learning to work and learning to study. In our mind’s eye, we see education connected to the workforce. This enables them to reach their full potential and contribute to their communities and the world. Improving learning requires improvement in teaching as well. Room for Growth reskills and upskills teachers in jobs, and trains those to be with the skills needed to prepare new generations. We also believe that the greatest change in the world will happen through educated mothers. Learners, educationalists and mothers are the system changers. They are the ‘system changers’ as they have a direct impact on young minds’ development.
‘Job fit’ skills matter for an individual’s career success, so simply said Room for Growth is a skill development organization that among other activities, offers skill based training to create smoother pathways between education and the job market.
Learning Method: Experiential Learning - Learning by doing. Characteristics of Experiential Learning engage with learners in direct experience and focused reflection in order to increase knowledge, develop skills and clarify values. Facilitated and guided practice, reflection and evaluation are all essential components of this transformative method of learning. Learning by doing. This is the basis for the experiential learning theory. Experiential learning focuses on the idea that the best ways to learn things is by actually having experiences. Those experiences then stick out in your mind and help you retain information and remember facts.
