ZË - Kosovar Speech & Language Therapy Association

Organizata “Zë” - Qendra Logopedike për Trajtim dhe Hulumtim është organizatë jo-qeveritare e themeluar në Dhjetor të vitit 2020 nga profesionistë të fushave të ndryshme sociale, por të gjithë të lidhur direkt me punën me fëmijët si dhe personat me aftësi të kufizuara. Përmes projekteve dhe aktiviteteve të realizuara nga organizata, synojmë fuqizimin e personave me aftësi të kufizuar në fusha të ndryshme, duke lehtësuar kështu integrimin e tyre në shoqëri. Po ashtu objektiva afatgjatë e organizatës është edhe ofrimi i seancave direkte logopedike falas, nga profesionistë të licensuar dhe trajnuar për të gjithë personat që kanë nevojë.

Të nxënit përmes lojës! 🧩

🧀 Përmes një aktiviteti ndërveprues me materiale vizuale dhe pjesë të ushqimeve lodër, fëmija ushtron të kuptuarit e udhëzimeve, identifikimin e elementeve dhe vendosjen e tyre sipas rendit të paraqitur në kartelat model.

🎯 Aktiviteti mbështet zhvillimin e të kuptuarit e gjuhës, vëmendjes, ndjekjes së udhëzimeve, kujtesës vizuale dhe aftësive të të menduarit logjik. Njëkohësisht, nxit koordinimin sy-dorë, aftësitë motorike fine dhe pavarësinë në realizimin e detyrave.

Ky aktivitet u realizua në kuadër të projektit "Programi i Rehabilitimit: Shërbimet sociale vjetore", i përkrahur financiarisht nga Ministria për Punë, Familje dhe Vlerat e Luftës Çlirimtare.

Learning Through Play! 🧩

🧀 Through an interactive activity using visual materials and toy food pieces, the child practises understanding instructions, identifying elements and arranging them in the correct sequence according to the model cards.

🎯 The activity supports the development of language comprehension, attention, following instructions, visual memory and logical thinking. At the same time, it promotes hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, and independence in completing tasks.

📌 This activity was carried out within the framework of the project “Rehabilitation Programme: Annual Social Services”, financially supported by the Ministry of Labour, Family and the Values of the Liberation War.

🧠 Dita Botërore e Disleksisë - 8 Tetor 2026

Tema e vitit 2026 për të shënuar këtë ditë është “Dyslexia in real life: At work”, duke vënë në pah përvojat dhe sfidat e personave me disleksi në vendin e punës.

Kosova tashmë ka profesionistë dhe ekspertizë të specializuar në fushën e disleksisë, por kjo ekspertizë ende nuk po merr vëmendjen dhe hapësirën e nevojshme në nivel institucional. Përballë disleksisë, institucionet duhet të mbështeten në njohuritë profesionale dhe në praktika të bazuara në dëshmi, në vend që përgjigjja ndaj disleksisë të mbështetet në iniciativa të pakualifikuara apo në metoda të paqëndrueshme.

Shërbimet cilësore dhe përmirësimi i cilësisë së jetës së personave me disleksi kërkojnë vlerësim, ndërhyrje dhe mbështetje profesionale.

🧠 World Dyslexia Day - 8 October 2026

The 2026 theme to mark this day is “Dyslexia in real life: At work”, highlighting the experiences and challenges of people with dyslexia in the workplace.

Kosovo now has professionals and specialised expertise in the field of dyslexia, yet this expertise is still not receiving the attention and recognition it deserves at the institutional level. When addressing dyslexia, institutions should rely on professional knowledge and evidence-based practices, rather than approaches that are not professionally grounded or interventions developed without appropriate expertise.

Quality services and improved quality of life for people with dyslexia require professional assessment, intervention and support.

23 Shtator - Dita Ndërkombëtare e Gjuhëve të Shenjave

Në vitin 2026, kjo ditë shënohet me temën “Declaring Deaf People’s Human Rights".

Sipas Federatës Botërore Personave të Shurdhër (WFD), mbi 70 milionë persona të shurdhër në mbarë botën i përkasin komuniteteve që përdorin gjuhët e shenjave, ndërsa përdoren mbi 200 gjuhë kombëtare të shenjave në botë.

Në Kosovë, personat e shurdhër vazhdojnë të përballen me barriera në qasjen në komunikim dhe informacion, përfshirë nevojën për më shumë përkthyes të gjuhës së shenjave dhe qasje më të qëndrueshme në arsim, shëndetësi, punësim dhe shërbime publike.

23 September - International Day of Sign Languages

In 2026, the day is dedicated to the theme “Declaring Deaf People’s Human Rights".

According to the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD), more than 70 million deaf people belong to signing deaf communities worldwide, with more than 200 national sign languages used around the world.

In Kosovo, deaf people continue to face barriers to communication and information accessibility, including the need for more sign language interpreters and more consistent access to education, healthcare, employment and public services.

Javën që shkoi pritëm në organizatë z. Burim Azemin, Drejtorin Ekzekutiv të Shoqata Kosovare Per Belbezim.

Z. Azemi dhuroi për organizatën stokun e mbetur fizik të materialeve: Vetë-terapia për Belbëzim, Nëse fëmija juaj belbëzon dhe Nganjëherë unë thjesht belbëzoj, si dhe materialet për mësimdhënësit rreth belbëzimit: Zënka gjatë pushimit dhe Të flasim sinqerisht me mësimdhënësit për belbëzimin.

Të gjitha këto materiale po ashtu janë dorëzuar edhe në formatin digjital, si dhe në dakordim mes organizatave janë publikuar në vegzën e Librarisë digjitale të organizatës ZË.

Last week, our organization had the pleasure of welcoming Mr. Burim Azemi, Executive Director of the Kosovo Stuttering Association.

Mr. Azemi donated to our organization the remaining physical stock of the materials: Self-Therapy for Stuttering, If Your Child Stutters and Sometimes I Just Stutter, as well as the educational materials for teachers on stuttering: Teasing During Recess and Let’s Talk Honestly with Teachers About Stuttering.

All of these materials were also provided in digital format and following an agreement between the two organizations, these materials have been published in ZË’s Digital Library.

The materials could also be found in different languages on the Stuttering Foundation official website.

📢 Raporti i fundit i Zyrës Kombëtare të Auditimit konfirmon një shqetësim që ZË - Asociacioni i Logopedëve në Kosovë e ka ngritur vazhdimisht: Mungesën e përfshirjes së mjaftueshme të logopedisë në sistemin arsimor.

Raporti i ZKA-së për “Mbështetjen e Nxënësve me Nevoja të Veçanta në Shkollat Fillore dhe të Mesme të Ulëta në Kosovë” evidenton, ndër të tjera, mangësi në funksionimin dhe përbërjen e Ekipeve Vlerësuese Komunale, përfshirë mungesën e profilit të logopedit në ekipe në raste të caktuara.

Në një sistem ku identifikimi dhe vlerësimi i nevojave të nxënësve është thelbësor për përcaktimin e mbështetjes së duhur, mungesa e profesionistit të komunikimit, të folurit dhe gjuhës përbën një boshllëk të rëndësishëm.

🔎 Këto gjetje lidhen drejtpërdrejt me thirrjet që ZË ka bërë ndër vite për njohjen dhe fuqizimin e rolit të logopedit në sistemet publike, përfshirë arsimin dhe fëmijërinë e hershme.

Ne kemi avokuar për përfshirjen e logopedisë në institucionet publike, për funksionimin e vlerësimit multidisiplinar dhe për krijimin e shërbimeve të bazuara në nevojat reale të fëmijëve dhe nxënësve.

🤝 ZË si asociacion profesional që përfaqëson logopedinë në Kosovë, jemi të gatshëm të bashkëpunojmë me MASH-in, DKA-të, shkollat dhe institucionet e tjera arsimore për të zhvilluar modele të qëndrueshme të shërbimeve logopedike, për të mbështetur ekipet profesionale dhe për të kontribuar me ekspertizën tonë në hartimin e politikave dhe praktikave më gjithëpërfshirëse.

Një sistem arsimor gjithëpërfshirës nuk nënkupton vetëm që fëmijët të jenë në shkollë, do të thotë që ata të kenë mbështetjen profesionale që i mundëson të komunikojnë, të mësojnë, të marrin pjesë dhe të zhvillojnë potencialin e tyre. 🗣️💙

📢 The latest performance audit by Kosovo’s National Audit Office confirms a concern that ZË - Kosovar Speech & Language Therapy Association has repeatedly raised: The insufficient integration of speech and language therapy within the education system.

The KNAO report on “Support for Students with Special Educational Needs in Primary and Lower Secondary Schools in Kosovo” identifies, among other issues, shortcomings in the functioning and composition of Municipal Assessment Teams, including cases where the speech and language therapist profile is missing.

In a system where accurate identification and assessment of students needs are essential for determining appropriate support, the absence of a professional specialised in communication, speech and language represents a significant gap.

🔎 These findings directly relate to ZË’s continued advocacy for the recognition and strengthening of the role of speech and language therapists within public systems, including education and early childhood development.

We have consistently called for the inclusion of speech and language therapy within public institutions, effective multidisciplinary assessment, and services based on the actual needs of children and students.

🤝 ZË as the professional association representing speech and language therapy in Kosovo, is ready to work together with the Ministry of Education, municipal education directorates, schools and other educational institutions to develop sustainable models of speech and language therapy services, strengthen professional teams, and contribute our expertise to the development of more inclusive policies and practices.

An inclusive education system does not simply mean that children are present at school, it means ensuring the professional support that enables every child to communicate, learn, participate and reach their potential. 🗣️💙

Vlerësim për anëtarët tonë

Blerta Krasniqi është anëtare profesionale në organizatën ZË nga viti 2024, e anëtarësuar përmes ciklit të parë të anëtarësimit profesional në organizatë.

Në Qershor të këtij viti mbrojti me sukses temën e doktoraturës me titull "Predispositions of Dyslexia for Preschool-Aged Children in Kosovo and in Poland" në Uniwersytet Komisji Edukacji Narodowej w Krakowie, Poloni, duke fituar titullin Doktor i Shkencave (PhD) në fushën e Logopedisë.

Hulumtimi i saj, i realizuar në bashkëpunim ndërmjet Kosovës dhe Polonisë, sjell të dhëna të reja shkencore mbi predispozitat e disleksisë tek fëmijët e moshës parashkollore dhe paraqet studimin e parë krahasues të këtij lloji ndërmjet dy vendeve. Rezultatet e këtij punimi pritet të kontribuojnë në identifikimin e hershëm të fëmijëve në rrezik për disleksi, në përmirësimin e praktikave të vlerësimit dhe ndërhyrjes logopedike, si dhe në krijimin e një baze të rëndësishme shkencore për zhvillimin e kërkimeve dhe shërbimeve logopedike në Kosovë.

Members spotlight

Blerta Krasniqi has been a professional member of ZË - Kosovar Speech and Language Therapy Association since 2024, having joined during the Association's first professional membership cycle.

In June of this year, she successfully defended her doctoral dissertation entitled "Predispositions of Dyslexia for Preschool-Aged Children in Kosovo and in Poland" at the Uniwersytet Komisji Edukacji Narodowej w Krakowie, Poland, earning the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Speech and Language Therapy.

Her research, conducted through collaboration between Kosovo and Poland, provides new scientific evidence on the predispositions to dyslexia among preschool-aged children and represents the first comparative study of its kind between the two countries. The findings of this research are expected to contribute to the early identification of children at risk of dyslexia, improve speech and language therapy assessment and intervention practices, and establish an important scientific foundation for the further development of research and speech and language therapy services in Kosovo.
