SFA was amongst the prestigious civil society organisations to have participated in the NGO Talanoa coordinated and organised by the Tautua Program today at Taumeasina Island Resort. All the participated NGOs were the direct recipients of funding procured by the Tautua Program as part of the Government of Australia’s initiative to support civil societies in Samoa.

SFA presented its community advocacy work for the Samoa SOGIE community by its booth. The SFA Team was led by its President, Alex Su’a with its Project Coordinator, Gustav Su’a and its Finance Officer, Rosita Leaana.

According to Alex Su’a “this was a successful
advocacy for SFA as it is a privileged space to speak directly to the Government of Australia for both financial and technical support particularly towards its institutional strengthening.” Further to that Su’a said “the Government of Australia since its diplomatic and development partnership relations with Samoa, never stood back from its advocacy for gender equality. SFA has taken that on with its advocacy work for the Samoa SOGIE community.”

In response, Her Excellency, Hon. Sam Mostyn AC, the Governor General of Australia said “Australia will always approach its advocacy on gender equality across the region with care and kindness towards every diversity of Samoa society including SOGIE as often the marginalised communities in the Pacific society. Australia’s approach is about putting people at the centre of its development works.”

SFA is proud to declare that it has received additional core funding from Australia Government by Tautua Program for the next 2 years and will continue to do so for its institutional strengthening.

It’s that time of the year again… 🌺

Your SFA is back with our annual Sports Festival Activity 2026 in Upolu, bringing together our fa’afafine and fa’atama community for a day of fun, connection and celebration.

Aiava ia Pres ma Miss, showing that strength, confidence and community spirit go hand in hand 👀

Hosted in partnership with our core funder: UNDP-Global Fund Western Pacific HIV, TB and Malaria Programmes, we aim to do fun water-based sports and friendly competition in a safe and inclusive space for all. From beach volleyball to swimming, kayaking etc there is exactly absolutely something for everyone to enjoy.
