COY Vanuatu

COY Vanuatu France will host the COY for its 11st edition, just prior to climate change negociations.

Conference of Youth Vanuatu bring together youths and young people across Vanuatu to build network and a common vision to contribute to the wellbeing of their communities through local climate actions and provide learnings ahead of each UNFCCC. The Conference of Youth (COY), is an event to bring young people together and encourage their involvement on the issues of climate change and sustainable m

odels of society. Every year, a COY is organized in the country hosting the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (CCNUCC). At a more local level, similar gatherings will take place across all continents to favour a much better mobilization of young people. We are currently organizing the COY11 Nouméa for the Pacific island countries and territories ! The COY is a platform for sharing ideas, beliefs, good practices and life experiences. The COY will ensure the expression of young people in a great variety of forms, on different themes (climate, geosphere and biosphere, energy, employment, citizen participation, living together, social economy, healthcare and welfare, agriculture and food, lifestyles, savoir-faire and innovation.)

The Conference of Youth (COY) Vanuatu is a platform that serves as a space for the moral and intellectual empowerment of young people. It provides opportunities for youth to strengthen their knowledge, skills, and networks in order to meaningfully engage in climate action. In Vanuatu, COY prepares young people to give service to their communities through climate change projects, advocacy, and innovative solutions. It also brings together diverse youth voices. COY amplifies the role of young people as key actors in shaping climate policies and driving sustainable change at local, regional, and global levels.
