PRESS RELEASE: TUVALU HOSTS SUCCESSFUL 4th REGIONAL AVIATION MINISTERS MEETING (RAMM4) VIRTUALLY
PORT VILA, 12 MAY 2026 – Tuvalu’s Minister of Transport, Energy, Communication and Innovation, Hon. Simon Kofe, successfully chaired the Fourth Aviation Ministers Meeting (RAMM4) held virtually today.
Under the theme “A More Connected, Safe, Affordable and Resilient Pacific,” Ministers discussed key priorities, including regional aviation planning, air connectivity progress, safety and security frameworks, and preparations for the next RAMM.
The meeting reaffirmed the Pacific’s strong commitment to improving aviation safety, affordability, and resilience, while addressing challenges such as rising fuel costs and connectivity constraints.
PASO General Manager Ueta Solomona highlighted the importance of regional cooperation, noting PASO’s role in strengthening aviation systems, aligning with international standards, and supporting Pacific-specific needs.
🌏 The discussions align with the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent, ensuring a safer, more sustainable aviation future for the region.
✅ Tuvalu has also confirmed it will host the next in-person Regional Aviation Ministers Meeting.
