🌱 Inception Meetings at Kole 1 & Kole 2 🌱

The Farm Support Association (FSA) conducted an inception meeting at Kole 1 on 9 April 2026, where FSA continues to work closely with two community groups. A second inception meeting was held at Kole 2 on 15 April 2026.

These meetings were part of the Oxfam Women Power Project, bringing together farmers and FSA group members to present and discuss their workplans.

Through these discussions, FSA staff and community groups worked together to review the workplans, ensuring that planned activities reflect the needs and priorities of the group & communities.

A Milestone for Nalivae Vanua Women’s Group! 💧

The Nalivae Vanua Women’s Group and the wider community in Malo officially opened their underground well on 10 April 2026, a significant achievement for the community.
The new underground well will improve access to reliable water for households and farming activities, strengthening community resilience and supporting sustainable livelihoods. It will play a vital role in supporting women in their farming activities and daily household needs, while also uplifting the wider community, enhancing their ability to adapt to the impacts of climate change and contributing to efforts that help reduce its effects for a more sustainable future.
Standing together in support, FSA staff proudly attended the official opening, celebrating alongside the Nalivae Vanua Women’s Group and the Malo community as they marked this important step forward.
This important initiative was supported by the Farm Support Association (FSA), in partnership with the Pacific Island Farmers Organisations Network, through funding from the FO4ACP Project and the Climate Resilient Farming Project (CRF). These projects are part of a collaborative effort supported by the European Union and the International Fund for Agricultural Development.

🌱 Pinalum Central Nursery Growing Strong! 🍅🫑🥕🌱

The Pinalum Central Nursery was established with support from the Farm Support Association (FSA) through the Climate Resilient Project (CRF) and the Oxfam TC Judy & Kevin Recovery Project, alongside the dedicated efforts of the Pinalum community in building the nursery.

Today, the nursery is not only supporting the Pinalum community but is also attracting interest from surrounding villages across Malekula, with people coming to purchase vegetable seedlings.

This initiative is making a real difference—especially for mothers—by providing easier access to quality seedlings. They can now grow vegetables and sell them at local markets within their communities, helping to improve household income and food security.

At the heart of the nursery is FSA Field Technician Edna Malory, who carefully manages and maintains the nursery, ensuring healthy seedling production for both the community and surrounding villages.
