A rugby huddle is designed to be just your team. If someone from outside or another team comes near the circle you shut down and break up the huddle. In life without even realizing it we have a huddle of our company (for the most part people who have a similar lifestyle and values). As well there are many other huddles of people. Different cultures, different ways of living, those who have never stepped foot into a church their whole life, etc. Some you wouldn’t have access to if you just went up to them and tried to preach Christ.
So how do you reach them?
Instead of trying to pe*****te the whole circle you need to start by reaching one. Then from that one you can gain access to more. But that one will require you being willing to invest in discipling them so that perhaps it will be them and not you who goes into the huddle and preaches Christ to them. Paul pe*****ted the huddle of Gentiles not by focusing on doing it all himself but by training and discipling a few Gentiles who would then take the message to their own people. Things I hear in my heart…in order to reach corrupt people you have to be willing to preach to and disciple corrupt people.
Are you willing to look beyond your circle and help someone find Christ, disciple them as they grow in Christ until they reach the standard of Christ?
