☘🌿 What we did for World Environment Day 2024? ☘🌿

On Wednesday the 5.6. VGU GREEN Inspiration group hosted a Recycling Exchange for Sustainability booth at the VGU Career Fair.

☘ In order to raise awareness about the responsible use of plastics and the importance of climate protection, we were not only able to provide information, but also to sell many used stuff for reuse and avoiding realizing waste to the landfills while promoting circular economy, as well as small plants that will hopefully grow under the great care of our students. The products sold were designed to make it easier to live without single-use plastics, such as a reusable cup or shopping bag.

☘ Students were also informed about the sustainable career choice and companies who are committed to environment protection and sustainability.

All proceeds were donated to the GREEN Inspiration foundation, which works to protect the climate.

Additionally, a quiz was also held to raise awareness of the environment and climate change, with many students taking part and winning practical prizes.

☘🌿🥰 We are pleased that we were able to provide a lot of information during the day and that, together with our students, we were able to contribute to climate protection with the proceeds. All participants made a meaningful day. 🥰☘🌿

🌿🌿 The VGU GREEN Inspiration Group would like to call on the university communities to refrain from using single-use plastics (SUP) (cups, straws, bottles, boxes & bags e.g. with take-out food).

Coffee shops and street vendors love the stuff!

Please consider boycotting coffee shops that use SUP cups, even for customers sitting inside, and give your custom to more environmentally friendly places instead. Some popular coffee shops are among the worst offenders that you can discover today. Have these businesses not heard of reusable glasses for drinks!?!

Other countries (like India, Rwanda) have already banned most single-use plastics. The latest UN Human Development Index ranks Vietnam as 107 out of 193 countries while India is placed at 134 and Rwanda is 161.

So your plastic cup may well end up in the landfill or worse - the roadside, river or ocean. But even if it is recycled, this is not a panacea. Recycled plastics can be more toxic in their 2nd life than their first. It’s much better not to use this material at all, if possible.

🌱 Plastic Redemption - Empowering Change with Plastic Exchange Program 🌱

📢 Hey everyone! Last week, we organized the Plastic Redemption - Empowering Change with Plastic Exchange program at Ielts LISA Bien Hoa, and it was a tremendous success! 🎉

🌍 We were pleasantly surprised by the overwhelming response and support we received from the community. In just one week, we were able to collect nearly 10 kg of plastic waste! This is a remarkable achievement, and it wouldn't have been possible without the active participation and dedication of each and every one of you.

🙌 We are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed to this initiative. Your efforts will undoubtedly make a significant impact in reducing plastic pollution and promoting a cleaner, greener environment. By exchanging plastic waste, we are taking a step towards a sustainable future, where our actions align with our aspirations.

♻️ The collected plastic waste will be sent to a recycling plant, where it will be transformed into new products. This is just the beginning of our journey to tackle the plastic waste crisis. We are committed to keeping you updated on the progress and outcomes of this recycling process. Stay tuned for more information and exciting updates!

🌿💚 Green Touch Outreach Success! 💚🌿

We are thrilled to share the incredible success of Green Hub's outreach activities at IU last week! 🎉✨ The event, organized as part of the "From Waste to Wonder" program, was a fantastic opportunity for us to raise awareness about the importance of reducing single-use plastics (SUPs) and present our innovative solution.

Our team had an amazing time engaging with students, faculty, and staff, spreading the message about the detrimental effects of SUPs on the environment and showcasing the sustainable alternatives available. 🌍♻️ The response we received was overwhelming, and we couldn't be happier with the outcome! We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the organizers for providing us the opportunity to present our solution. 👏🙏 It is through collaborative efforts like these that we can collectively work towards a greener and more sustainable future.
