SARES Başkanı ISLOGS’26’da Opening Keynote Konuşmasını Gerçekleştirdi

ISLOGS’26’nın açılış oturumunda, SARES Başkanı ve Piri Reis Üniversitesi Araştırma Dekanı Prof. Dr. Hikmet Karakoç, “Recent Developments in Sustainable Logistics and SARES” başlıklı Opening Keynote Konuşmasını gerçekleştirdi.

Prof. Karakoç konuşmasında, lojistik ve tedarik zincirlerinin geleceğini şekillendiren güncel gelişmeleri ele alarak özellikle operasyonel karbonsuzlaşma, yapay zekâ ve otonom lojistik, geleceğin enerji sistemleri, döngüsel tedarik zincirleri ve dayanıklı tedarik zincirleri üzerinde durdu.

Sürdürülebilir lojistiğin artık yalnızca emisyonların azaltılmasıyla sınırlı olmadığını; teknoloji, enerji, döngüsellik ve dayanıklılığın birlikte ele alındığı bütüncül bir dönüşüm süreci olarak değerlendirilmesi gerektiğini vurguladı.

Konuşmanın diğer bölümünde SARES’in sürdürülebilirlik alanında yürüttüğü uluslararası akademik faaliyetlere ve ISLOGS’un bu çalışmalar içerisindeki yerine değindi.

SARES President Delivered the Opening Keynote Speech at ISLOGS’26

During the opening session of ISLOGS’26, Prof. Dr. Hikmet Karakoç, President of SARES and Research Dean of Piri Reis University, delivered the Opening Keynote Speech entitled “Recent Developments in Sustainable Logistics and SARES.”

In his speech, Prof. Karakoç addressed recent developments shaping the future of logistics and supply chains, with particular emphasis on operational decarbonization, artificial intelligence and autonomous logistics, future energy systems, circular supply chains, and resilient supply chains.

He emphasized that sustainable logistics is no longer limited to reducing emissions, but should be considered as a holistic transformation process integrating technology, energy, circularity, and resilience.

In the second part of his speech, Prof. Karakoç highlighted SARES’s international academic activities in the field of sustainability and the role of ISLOGS within these initiatives.

ISLOGS’26 Phenikaa Üniversitesi’nde Başladı

International Symposium on Sustainable Logistics and Supply Chains (ISLOGS’26), Phenikaa Üniversitesi’nde gerçekleştirilen açılış oturumu ile başladı.
Sempozyuma 20 farklı ülkeden, 40 farklı kurum ve üniversiteden yoğun bir uluslararası katılım gerçekleşti.
Açılış konuşmaları Phenikaa Üniversitesi Başkan Yardımcısı Prof. Dr. Vu Van Truong ve Phenikaa Üniversitesi School of Economics Rektörü Prof. Pham Van Hong tarafından gerçekleştirildi.
Açılış konuşmalarında ISLOGS’26’nın sürdürülebilir lojistik ve tedarik zincirleri alanındaki bilgi paylaşımına ve uluslararası akademik iş birliklerinin geliştirilmesine sağlayacağı katkılar vurgulandı.

ISLOGS’26 Started at Phenikaa University

The International Symposium on Sustainable Logistics and Supply Chains (ISLOGS’26) started with its opening session at Phenikaa University.
The symposium brought together strong international participation from 40 institutions and universities across 20 countries.
The opening remarks were delivered by Prof. Dr. Vu Van Truong, Vice President of Phenikaa University, and Prof. Pham Van Hong, Rector of the School of Economics, Phenikaa University.
The opening remarks highlighted the contribution of ISLOGS’26 to knowledge exchange in sustainable logistics and supply chains and to strengthening international academic collaboration.

University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH) Ziyareti

Bugün, SARES VVietnem Başkanı Dr. Thai Binh ile birlikte University of Science and Technology of Hanoi’yi (USTH) ziyaret ettik. Gerçekleştirdiğimiz toplantıya Prof. Ngo Quang Minh ve Dr. Hoang Trung Kien katıldı.
Görüşmemizde kendilerine SARES logosu ile Türkiye’den getirdiğim bazı hatıraları takdim ettim. Ardından Piri Reis Üniversitesi ile USTH arasında geliştirilebilecek akademik iş birliği imkânlarını değerlendirdik.
İki üniversite arasında bir Mutabakat Zaptı (MoU) hazırlıklarının en kısa sürede başlatılması ve imzaya açılması konusunda fikir birliğine vardık. Bu kapsamda özellikle öğrenci ve akademik personel değişimi ile ortak akademik çalışmaların geliştirilmesi üzerinde durduk.
Toplantımızın ardından USTH’nin laboratuvarlarını ziyaret ederek yürütülen çalışmalar hakkında bilgi aldık.
Nazik ev sahiplikleri için Prof. Ngo Quang Minh, Dr. Hoang Trung Kien ve USTH’ye teşekkür ediyorum. Bu ziyaretin üniversitelerimiz arasında yeni ve verimli iş birliklerinin başlangıcı olmasını diliyorum.

Visit to the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH)

Today, together with Dr. Thai Binh who is President of Vietnam SARES Chapter, we visited the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH). Prof. Ngo Quang Minh and Dr. Hoang Trung Kien joined our meeting.
During the meeting, I presented them with the SARES logo and some souvenirs from Türkiye. We then discussed potential areas of academic cooperation between Piri Reis University and USTH.
We agreed to initiate the preparation of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two universities and proceed towards its signing as soon as possible. In particular, we discussed student and academic staff exchanges, as well as opportunities for joint academic activities.
Following the meeting, we visited USTH’s laboratories and had the opportunity to learn more about the work being carried out at the university.
I would like to thank Prof. Ngo Quang Minh, Dr. Hoang Trung Kien, and USTH for their kind hospitality. I hope this visit will be the beginning of new and productive cooperation between our universities. Daha azını gör

Vietnam’da Yaşayan Bir Gelenek: Terzilik

Türkiye’de terzilik giderek azalırken, Vietnam’da bu geleneğin hâlâ oldukça yaygın olduğunu görmek dikkatimi çekti.

Hanoi’de şehri gezerken sık sık terzi dükkânlarına rastlıyoruz. Geçen yıl Ho Chi Minh City’yi ziyaret ettiğimde de aynı durum dikkatimi çekmişti. O ziyaretimde zamanım kısıtlı olduğu için bir takım elbise diktirme fırsatı bulamamıştım.

Bu akşam Phenikaa Üniversitesi Rektörü Prof. Pham Van Hong’un tavsiyesi üzerine, kendisiyle birlikte bir terziye gittik. Bir takım elbise, bir tek ceket ve bir gömlek siparişi verdim.

Program da oldukça hızlı: Yarın ilk prova, Cumartesi günü teslim! :)

Vietnam’daki terzilik kültürünü bu kez sadece gözlemlemekle kalmayıp deneyimleme fırsatı da bulmuş oldum.

A Living Tradition in Vietnam: Tailoring

While traditional tailoring is becoming less common in Türkiye, I was interested to see that it is still quite widespread in Vietnam.

As we walk around Hanoi, we frequently come across tailor shops. I noticed the same thing during my visit to Ho Chi Minh City last year. At that time, my schedule was too limited to have a suit made.

This evening, following the recommendation of Phenikaa University Rector Prof. Pham Van Hong, we visited a tailor together. I ordered a suit, a separate jacket, and a shirt.

And the schedule is impressively fast: first fitting tomorrow, delivery on Saturday! :)

This time, I have the opportunity not only to observe Vietnam’s tailoring culture, but also to experience it myself.

Phenikaa Üniversitesinde Rektör Prof. Pham Van Hong’a Ziyaret

ISLOGS’26 – International Symposium on Sustainable Logistics and Supply Chains sempozyumunu organize etmek üzere geldiğim Vietnam’da ilk resmi ziyaretimi Phenikaa Üniversitesi Rektörü Prof. Pham Van Hong’a gerçekleştirdim.

Görüşmemizde kendisine SARES logosu ile Türkiye’den getirdiğim bazı hatıraları takdim ettim.

Ayrıca Piri Reis Üniversitesi ile Phenikaa Üniversitesi arasında geliştirilebilecek akademik iş birliği imkânlarını değerlendirdik. İki üniversite arasında bir Mutabakat Zaptı (MoU) hazırlıklarının en kısa sürede başlatılması ve imzaya açılması konusunda fikir birliğine vardık. Bu kapsamda öğrenci ve akademik personel değişimi başta olmak üzere farklı alanlarda ortak çalışmaların geliştirilmesini ele aldık.

Prof. Pham Van Hong’a ve Phenikaa Üniversitesi’ne ISLOGS’26’ya ev sahipliği yapmaları, sempozyumun organizasyonuna verdikleri destek ve Vietnam’da bulunduğum süre boyunca kullanmam için bir çalışma ofisi tahsis etmeleri dolayısıyla teşekkürlerimi ilettim.

Bu ziyaretin, üniversitelerimiz arasında uzun soluklu ve verimli bir akademik iş birliğinin başlangıcı olmasını diliyorum.

Visit to Rector Prof. Pham Van Hong at Phenikaa University.

During my visit to Vietnam to organize ISLOGS’26 – International Symposium on Sustainable Logistics and Supply Chains, I made my first official visit to Prof. Pham Van Hong, Rector of Phenikaa University.

During our meeting, I presented him with the SARES logo and some souvenirs from Türkiye.

We also discussed potential areas of academic cooperation between Piri Reis University and Phenikaa University. We agreed to initiate the preparation of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two universities as soon as possible and proceed towards its signing. We also discussed including student and academic staff exchanges, as well as opportunities for further joint academic activities.

Vietnam Phenikaa Üniversitesi’nde İlk Gün Sürprizi

ISLOGS’26 – International Symposium on Sustainable Logistics and Supply Chains sempozyumunu organize etmek üzere Vietnam’a, Phenikaa Üniversitesi’ne geldim.
Sempozyum öncesi hazırlıkları koordine etmek üzere üniversiteye geldiğimde beni çok güzel bir sürpriz bekliyordu. Phenikaa Üniversitesi Rektörü Prof. Pham Van Hong, kendi ofisinin bulunduğu katta benim için bir çalışma ofisi tahsis etmiş ve kapısına ismimi yazdırmış. Vietnam’da bulunacağım bir hafta boyunca çalışmalarımı bu ofisten sürdüreceğim.
Ofiste, üniversite adına organizasyon sürecinde bana eşlik eden Dr. Tran Thi Thai Binh ve Rektör Yardımcısı Prof. Nguyen Anh Thu hoş geldin ziyaretinde bulundular.
Ardından Organizasyon Komitesi ile toplantılar gerçekleştirerek ISLOGS’26’nın hazırlıklarını ve sempozyumun organizasyon detaylarını değerlendirdik.
Nazik ev sahiplikleri ve sıcak karşılamaları için Phenikaa Üniversitesi yönetimine ve çalışma arkadaşlarımıza teşekkür ediyorum.

A Wonderful First-Day Surprise at Phenikaa University, Vietnam

I have arrived at Phenikaa University in Vietnam to organize ISLOGS’26 – International Symposium on Sustainable Logistics and Supply Chains.
When I arrived at the university to coordinate the final preparations for the symposium, a wonderful surprise was waiting for me. The Rector of Phenikaa University, Prof. Pham Van Hong, had kindly arranged a working office for me on the same floor as his office, with my name placed on the door. I will be using this office during my one-week stay in Vietnam.

Dr. Tran Thi Thai Binh, who is accompanying me on behalf of the university throughout the organization process, and Vice Rector Prof. Nguyen Anh Thu also paid a kind welcome visit to my office.
Later, we held meetings with the Organizing Committee to discuss the preparations and organizational details of ISLOGS’26.
I sincerely thank the leadership and our colleagues at Phenikaa University for their warm welcome and kind hospitality.

Preparations for ISLOGS’26 are underway.
