Education for Good

Education for Good Education for Good is a mission-driven organization. At the heart of our work is Doing Good—not just as a program, but as a way of life.

We aim to nurture a diverse and inclusive community of joyful and purpose-driven leaders who embrace authenticity, grow holistically, and come together to create good in Vietnam and beyond. Education for Good is a mission-driven organization built on the simple yet powerful belief that learning should have meaning. More than just acquiring knowledge, education should help young people ask why they

learn, who they are learning for, and how they can use their knowledge to do good in the world. We believe that education is most impactful when it is rooted in purpose, authenticity, and connection. By fostering deep relationships—between people, ideas, and cultures—we create spaces where young changemakers can grow with joy, lead with heart, and serve with intention.

Dear friends of Education for Good,

It's been more than a month since Embodying Earth Junior 2025 ended, and we're still thinking about the new friendships formed, the deeper connections with nature fostered, and the new awareness our young explorers cultivated within themselves and their communities.

We're excited to share that EE Jr. recap video is finally here!

Let’s look back at the memories we made together over five days last December in Nui Tuong. Drop a comment to let us know what moments stood out to you – we’d love to hear 💚

(P.S: Exciting announcement coming on Saturday–stay tuned!)

🌱 Support Recycling Garden & Nguyễn Nga Center After Storm Kalmaegi

For the past two summers, Doing Good: A UWC Short Course has brought students from 19 countries to visit Recycling Garden by Nguyễn Nga Center – a small yet extraordinary residence facility in Quy Nhơn founded by Ms. Nga, who has devoted her life to supporting people with disabilities.

At her home, residents learn to care for the environment through recycling, gardening, and community projects. Many of our students remember the warmth, courage, and creativity they found there – a place where challenges are transformed into hope.

Last month, Storm Kalmaegi struck Quy Nhơn with devastating force, destroying most of the site. The residents are safe, but the damage is overwhelming. Ms. Nga is now facing the immense task of rebuilding the only home and workplace these community members have.

We are launching a community fundraising effort to help repair the space and restore residents’ daily activities. Any contribution – big or small – will directly support rebuilding materials, emergency needs, and the restoration of a safe environment for everyone living at the center.

How You Can Help:

🇻🇳 If you are in Vietnam / donating in VND:
Please donate directly to Nguyễn Nga Center’s bank account at: Vietcombank | 0051000280791 | Nguyễn Nga Center

🌏 If you are outside Vietnam / donating in USD:
Please donate via: https://vnuwc.app.neoncrm.com/forms/nnc

If you are not in a position to contribute financially, you can support by sharing this post with your networks and sending encouragement to Ms. Nga and the residents, who are holding on with remarkable resilience.

Recycling Garden and Nguyễn Nga Center has opened their doors and hearts to our students for years. Now, we want to stand with them.

With gratitude,
Education for Good

Dear Friends,

It’s been a little while since our last update – and that’s because our team has been deep in preparation for Embodying Earth Junior!

We’re thrilled to announce that 30 young learners from 7 different countries will officially be joining us at the end of this month at Nui Tuong Village Stay. 🎉🌿
And we’re not alone – a vibrant crew of facilitators and volunteers (including some wonderful alumni from our previous short courses!) will be there to co-create the magic.

We can’t wait for the meaningful connections, intercultural exchanges, and all the learning moments that are about to unfold at Núi Tượng. 🌏💚

🔎 Embodying Earth Junior Q&As

We’ve been receiving many questions from interested applicants and families. Here are the answers to some of the most common ones!

1️⃣ Can I apply if I’m outside the listed age range (12-14)?

Our official age range is 12-14. However, similar to our previous short courses, we're open to considering applicants who are just below/above the age limit on a case-by-case basis.

We encourage you to apply, and we'll review your application with care.

2️⃣ Do you offer scholarships? How do I apply?

Yes, we do offer financial aid packages on a limited basis. Please note that financial aid applies only to the program fee and does not cover flights or medical insurance.

There is a financial aid section in our application form. If you decide to apply, you can indicate that you are requesting financial support there and answer questions about your family’s financial situation. We will review your application and financial aid request together and let you know what level of scholarship we’re able to offer if you are admitted.

3️⃣ Is there a full scholarship that covers all of the tuition fee?

We are unfortunately not able to offer full (100%) scholarships. The highest level of support we can provide is a 75% tuition scholarship for the course fee. This means a remaining portion will still need to be covered by your family.

This is because participants are expected to contribute to the baseline costs of food, accommodation, and on-ground transportation to ensure the program’s sustainability. We also believe that transformative learning experiences involve commitment and shared investment. Your contribution demonstrates your willingness to invest in your own growth and helps us support more learners in need.

4️⃣ Will there be pick up service from Ho Chi Minh City to the program site?

Yes! Participants will be picked up by program facilitators from a meeting point at Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport and taken directly to the course site via van or bus.

What if every step your child took walked them deeper into Earth’s memory? 🌍✨

During Embodying Earth Junior, participants go on a Deep Time Walk: a guided journey where each few meters represents millions of years of Earth’s history.

We begin with molten rock and swirling oceans, then slowly “walk” forward through:
• the first tiny living cells
• ancient oceans and forests
• dinosaurs and mass extinctions
• and finally… humans arriving only at the very end of the path

Along the way, we pause to ask:
• How did life even begin here?
• What had to happen for us to be alive right now?
• If we show up this late in Earth’s story, what kind of people do we want to be for the planet?

For many participants, it’s a quiet, powerful moment of realisation: “I’m not separate from nature. I am nature.”
