[Play at Home with Your Children]
✨Part 2: Things to Do When Playing with Your Children✨

Many parents wonder how to start playing with their children, or what games and activities would be most effective. You can revisit Part 1 of the “Play at Home with Your Children” series to learn about the domain of development that children need to strengthen and explore appropriate play activities that support their overall development.

This post shares practical tips for parents to help make playtime more fun and meaningful. These ideas can improve communication, create a safe space, and help children enjoy and engage more during play:

1. Set aside meaningful and focused playtime with your child: At least 5–10 minutes each day.
2. Let your child lead the play activity.
3. Praise your child’s positive behaviors.
4. Imitate your child’s actions.
5. Describe what your child is doing.
6. Be enthusiastic!
7. Reflect your child’s words and emotions.

We hope the tips shared in this part of the brochure will help parents feel more confident and prepared to engage in meaningful play at home with their children.❤️

In the next part, Rise Vietnam will also share some things to avoid when playing with children, helping parents create meaningful educational interactions and stronger connections through play.

Stay tuned for more useful tips and information from Rise Vietnam!

[Story Of Change]

Nay Y Tuan’s story shows the positive changes that happen when a child has a nurturing learning environment and gets trauma-informed support from family, school, and the Rise program. This helps him become interested in attending school and fully recover for his development, which builds the foundation for further growth and a learning journey. Further, his story of transformation inspires the Rise team, teachers, and involved communities to support many more children in difficult circumstances.

🥰We were deeply touched and pleasantly surprised to receive these heartfelt messages from Minh Hang Preschool—one of the partner schools participating in the Play for Learning and Thriving project in Long An Province during 2023–2026.

These genuine and heartwarming reflections from parents, teachers, and school leaders remind us why this work matters. They shared how the comprehensive support from Rise Alliance for Children (formerly WWO) has helped "give children access to modern educational toys, inspiring books, play-based learning activities, nutrition programs, developmental screenings, and ongoing support for children with developmental delays."
We would love to share these warm and encouraging messages with everyone who follows and supports Rise Vietnam.

At the moment, our team has been preparing for the next training to expand the Play-based Learning model to Tay Ninh Province on August 13–14.🔥Your encouragement reminds us that our efforts are making an important difference—step by step—by helping adults better recognize the importance of play and embrace it as a meaningful part of children's everyday lives.

If you believe in the power of play, start using play-based activities with your own children today. ❤️

[Play at Home with Your Children]
Part 1: What Can Parents Do to Support Their Child's Development?

Did you know?
🧠 90% of a child's brain develops during the first five years of life. Every time you play, talk, read, or explore the world together with your child, you are laying the building blocks for their lifelong development.

As part of our series introducing the brochure "Parents Playing with Children to Support Holistic Development," Rise Vietnam is sharing our first post on the negative impacts of early screen exposure on children's cognitive, language, and social-emotional development.

At the same time, we would like to emphasize that playing with your child during the first five years of life is one of the most powerful ways to support their overall development. Through play, children build essential skills across five key developmental domains:
🌱 Physical Development
🧠 Cognitive Development
💬 Language Development
❤️ Social-Emotional Development
👀 Sensory Development

Stay tuned for our next post to discover simple and practical ways to make playtime more meaningful and support your child's healthy development.

As the Disaster Relief and Recovery Project wraps up, Rise Alliance for Children Vietnam sincerely thanks HSBC for your generous support, trust, and steady commitment throughout this important journey.

After the devastating floods, your partnership helped us quickly meet the urgent needs of children and families and support their long-term recovery. This project not only provided immediate relief but also restored safe learning spaces, improved children's well-being, and gave families and communities the strength to rebuild their lives with hope.

Your investment has created a lasting impact that is far beyond material assistance. It has brought reassurance to families during difficult times and renewed opportunities for children to learn, play, and thrive.

✨✨Preparing for Disasters Means Preparing for a Better Future
[Vietnamese bellow in comment]

As Vietnam enters the 2026 storm season and the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting issues warnings about the first storm of the year, disaster preparedness stands out as one of the most important investments for at-risk communities.

It is also an opportunity to reflect on our Disaster Relief and Recovery Project, funded by HSBC and implemented in Đắk Lắk Province (formerly Phú Yên Province). Over the past six months, the project has supported 2,500 people and households with emergency relief and recovery assistance, helping communities recover from the devastating impacts of the disaster in late 2025.

In the coming weeks, we will share more about the project's journey and its impact. Today, we would like to highlight one important aspect of our work: disaster preparedness.

With sponsorship from HSBC, 20 rescue boats and 100 life jackets were delivered to the communities of Tuy An Bắc and Hòa Xuân communes in Đắk Lắk Province. This initiative reflects our shared commitment to strengthening community resilience and helping families prepare for future disasters.

🛶These rescue boats and life jackets are more than emergency equipment. They represent an investment in communities' ability to prepare, respond, and recover. At Rise, we believe resilience begins long before disaster strikes. It starts with listening to communities, understanding their needs, and providing practical support that creates lasting impact.

💫Stay tuned as we continue sharing the stories behind this initiative and the inspiring resilience of the communities we are privileged to work alongside.
