For Ms. Phung, caring for her grandchildren has become the center of her daily life.
At 75 years old, she is raising three grandchildren while their mother works far from home. Like many elderly caregivers in rural communities, she quietly carries the responsibility of keeping the family safe, cared for, and together.
Recently, HSCV supported the family with the construction of a safer and more accessible toilet at the home, something simple, but deeply important for the family’s daily well-being and dignity.
For Ms. Phung, it means less worry and safer living conditions for the children she cares for every day. For her grandchildren, it means growing up in a home with greater privacy, security, and stability.
Sometimes, improving a family’s living conditions is not only about infrastructure, it is about helping caregivers feel supported and helping children grow up in safer, more dignified environments.
This is the quiet impact of community support over time.
