The second Demo Day of the Ecothon 2026 - Ecothon in Indonesia took place Yogyakarta on September 4, bringing together 14 sustainable start-ups for a day of exchange, learning and pitching 🤩

Ecothon 2026 is hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups of the Republic of Korea, and co-organised by the Hanns Seidel Foundation, ASEM SMEs Eco-Innovation Center (ASEIC), and relevant ministries and local partners in the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia. The programme is organised as part of the Think Global Sustainability Network under the Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung’s Global Project on Mitigation and Adaptation to Climate Change (GMACC).

Hanns Seidel Foundation Vietnam phối hợp với Cục Pháp luật dân sự - kinh tế, Bộ Tư pháp Việt Nam tổ chức Hội thảo “Kinh nghiệm quốc tế về trách nhiệm pháp lý của các chủ thể liên quan đến trí tuệ nhân tạo” tại Hà Nội. 🤝⚖️

Được tổ chức trong khuôn khổ Đối thoại Nhà nước pháp quyền Đức – Việt Nam giai đoạn 3 năm 2026 - 2028, hội thảo quy tụ khoảng 50 đại biểu đến từ các bộ, ngành, trường đại học luật, doanh nghiệp và các cơ quan, tổ chức pháp lý để trao đổi về quy định pháp luật và trách nhiệm pháp lý liên quan đến AI. 🤖📚

🇩🇪🇻🇳 Germany–Vietnam Rule of Law Dialogue

Hanns Seidel Foundation Vietnam and the Directorare of Civil and Economic Law, Ministry of Justice of Vietnam jointly organized the workshop “International Experience on the Legal Liability of Actors Involved in Artificial Intelligence” in Hanoi 🤝⚖️.

Held under the three-year German-Vietnamese Rule of Law Dialogue 2026 - 2028, the workshop brought together around 50 representatives from ministries, universities, enterprises and legal institutions to exchange perspectives on AI regulation and legal liability 🤖📚.

Hanns Seidel Foundation Vietnam sincerely thank Prof. Dr. Eric Hilgendorf from the University of Würzburg for his valuable insights into German and European approaches, as well as our Vietnamese experts and speakers for their important contributions to the discussion 🙏🌐.

🏛️ Parliamentary Work in the Digital Era

On 26 August 2026, the Hanns Seidel Foundation Vietnam and the Office of the National Assembly of Vietnam jointly organized a workshop at the National Assembly Building on digital transformation and the use of trustworthy artificial intelligence (AI) in evidence-based lawmaking.
🤝 The workshop was co-chaired by Ms. Lê Thu Hà, Vice Chairwoman of the Office of the National Assembly, and Dr. Axel Neubert, Resident Representative of the Hanns Seidel Foundation Vietnam.
💡 Our sincere thanks go to Prof. Dr. Eric Hilgendorf, Chair of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure Law, Legal Theory, Information Law and Legal Informatics at Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg and legal adviser to the German Bundestag, for sharing valuable insights into German and European approaches to AI regulation.

Yesterday, Hanns Seidel Foundation Vietnam, together with the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Agriculture and Environment (ISPAE) and international partners, organised the Technical Workshop on Ecosystem Assessment: Towards a Sustainable Blue Economy in Hanoi.

The workshop brought together government agencies, research institutes, universities, development partners, and international experts to exchange knowledge on ecosystem assessment, natural capital accounting, Blue Carbon, and evidence-based policymaking for Viet Nam’s sustainable blue economy, while supporting the development of Natural Capital Accounting.

Over the past two weeks, 24 cleantech start-ups joined two intensive Boot Camps, where they learned from ClimateLaunchpad expert Mr. Ron Bloemers and experienced trainers from ClimateLaunchpad Vietnam and Vietnamese-German University VGU.

🌱 From developing business ideas and understanding customer needs to measuring environmental impact and pitching to investors, the teams have taken important steps in growing their ventures.

💡 Next up: one-on-one coaching sessions to help the start-ups further improve their business models and prepare for the competition.
