AER Roadshow 2026 – Engineering Mobility & AI Readiness

The AER Roadshow 2026 brought together engineers in Myanmar for a dynamic half-day programme focused on ASEAN engineering mobility, fire safety excellence, and AI readiness.

Friendship Order & Friendship Medal Award Ceremony
📅 12 December 2025 | 📍 VUSTA Office, Hanoi

A momentous day in Hanoi as AFEO was conferred the Friendship Order, the highest honour bestowed by the Vietnamese government upon a foreign organization. The ceremony, hosted by VUSTA, was held alongside the AER Conferment Ceremony for Vietnam engineers. Ir. Simon Yeong, AER Head Commissioner, proudly received the prestigious award on behalf of AFEO.

Meanwhile, the Friendship Medal, the second-highest honour awarded to an individual from a foreign country, was presented to Ir. Yau Chau Fong from The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) for his outstanding contributions as the former AER Head Commissioner.

A heartfelt thank you to VUSTA for hosting the ceremony and for the meaningful recognition. Heartiest congratulations to AFEO and Ir. Yau Chau Fong on this remarkable recognition! 🇻🇳🤝🇲🇾

AER Head Commissioner Sharing Session – ASEAN Mobility and Beyond

The AER Head Commissioner, Ir. Simon Yeong Chin Chow delivered a dedicated sharing session on “ASEAN Mobility and Beyond” at the 50th Annual National Convention, hosted by the ASEAN and Asia Pacific Engineer Registers (AAPER) Committee.

The session highlighted regional engineer mobility, professional recognition, and future pathways for strengthening engineering collaboration across ASEAN and the Asia-Pacific region.
