Hearwell Foundation is humbled to journey with Bien, a bright 16-year-old who has lived with hearing loss since birth. Today, Bien has been fitted with a hearing aid, a small device with a big promise: to help him focus better in school, connect more deeply with others, and dream even bigger for his future. 💙

We extend our deepest gratitude to our partner, Medicear Hearing Aid Center - City of San Fernando Branch Medicear Hearing Aid Center, for making access to hearing possible for patients like Bien.

And to Bien, thank you for your heartfelt letter. It reminds us why we do what we do: to open the world of sound to those who need it most.

Hearwell Foundation brings us to Hanoi this time...

A 14 year old girl, who has already faced more challenges than many of her peers. Diagnosed with progressive hearing loss, her condition began at a moderate level and worsened over time. Despite her determination and love for learning, especially her passion for English, she struggled in school because her old hearing aids—worn-out and outdated—could no longer keep up with her needs. Her family, while supportive, lacked the financial means to replace them.

In conjunction with Thien Duc's 11th Anniversary, we are glad to have presented her a free pair of Hansaton Wave.

Thanks to these advanced devices, Ngọc can now hear more clearly and participate more confidently in class. The Hansaton Wave’s modern technology allows seamless connectivity to her phone and computer, making it easier for her to study English and engage in online learning. What’s more, the hearing aids double as wireless earbuds, giving her the joy of listening to music directly—something that once seemed out of reach.

But perhaps the greatest change has been in her confidence. With better hearing, She has become more outgoing, more engaged, and more hopeful about her future. She’s excited to communicate, to study, and to dream again.

We believe that every child deserves the chance to reach their full potential. Seeing her smile reminds us why we do what we do. It’s not just about hearing better—it’s about living better.

Let this be just the beginning. We hope this gift opens doors to new opportunities and a brighter future for her...

Its near the end of 2024, and Hearwell Foundation is very glad to be able to support 4 more patients who were facing financial difficulties as their hearing impairment have affected their work and income... A very real problem especially for the lower income bracket, where one cannot work if they cannot hear, but if they don't find work, they have no means to buy a hearing aid... a vicious cycle...

Together with Hansaton and Daewon Hearing Centre, we are pleased to present to them a Gift this Christmas Season, a pair of Hansaton Hearing Aids from Germany. We hope they will accompany you well in the tough challenges ahead!

Hearwell Foundation is very honored to partner with Dr Giang Do, Saigon Hearing and VNAP (Vietnamese Association for Parents with Hearing Impaired Children and Hearing Loss Community) to offer help to 2 kids who are in need...

First Candidate, we have a 9 years old lovely girl who is blind in her left eye, and also struck with binaural Severe-Profound hearing loss. Late intervention resulted in her wearing hearing aids only when she was 7 years old... Unfortunately, her hearing aids failed since 3 months ago...

Second Candidate, we have a 13 years old boy who is also suffering from Severe-Profound Hearing Loss. He was able to start hearing aids since he was 4 years old, and is performing well until now... His hearing aids failed since 6 months ago...

Both the kids come from poor family background, and their parents were unable to get a new pair of hearing aids despite their effort to raise funds...

To stop school now would be such a pity... We are very glad to get to know these kids through VNAP... Through Saigon Hearing, we sponsored both the kids each with a pair of Hansaton Hearing Aids from Germany. We hope this little gift would give them more confidence to overcome future challenges! We wish you the best!

58 year old gentleman in the music industry have lost his hearing for 20 years... With one side severe and the other moderate, he could no longer enjoy or participate in his music work as in the past... and worse, tinnitus appear, which increase his stress and isolation... Due to lack of knowledge and awareness, he did not see any doctors or hearing care specialists until recently...

Through Daewon Hearing, we got to know of this gentleman and was glad to be able to sponsor him a pair of digital hearing aids! We hope he can now enjoy music and maybe have an opportunity again to do what he used to do...

Another 81 year old war veteran, who have severe to profound hearing loss... Making some small income by working in a wood factory despite his age, he soon realises the importance of hearing, as he could not communicate with people around him... he did not give up, and work hard to finally buy 1 analog hearing aid... but unfortunately the effect of 1 analog hearing aid could not help much to improve his life...

Through Daewon Hearing, we have decided to help him out with sponsorship of a pair of programmable hearing aids! We hope with them, he can maintain his activeness and continue to keep the positive attitude to life!

Young 20 year old lady, struggling to study and change her life... Unfortunately she has severe hearing loss on the left ear and moderate loss on the right. Due to financial constraints, she can only purchase 1 hearing aid, and hence went for fitting the better ear to allow her to hear clearly in school. However, depending only on the right ear to listen have cause much fatigue... and also affected her balance... To make matter worse, her right ear have started to deteroiate as well...

Through the intervention of Daewon Hearing, we are glad to have the opportunity to sponsor her a digital hearing aid for the left side as well. We wish that with proper binaural hearing, she could continue to excel in school and later on in her worklife as well...

Met this 81 year old war veteran, with severe hearing loss cause by the war... Used to wear hearing aids before, but was damaged and unable to purchase new ones, have to live in a life of silence for many years... Covid did not help, and without a job, and without the ability to communicate, its impossible to hear again...

Met this 13 year old girl who have severe to profound hearing. She is not wearing any hearing aids and due to late intervention, is unable to speak...

Her mother works in a garment factory, while her father is a stay-at-home dad to take care of her since young. The parents cannot afford hearing aids and hence could only send her to the School for Raising Disabled Children in Long An Province. The teachers commented that she is doing well in school, hardworking and smart, and could respond to loud sounds...

Through Minh Hoa Hearing and the school, we decided to help her with a pair of hearing aids. Hopefully, we could create a better opportunity for her to do well academically, and change her life...

Very glad to meet this hyperactive 7 year old boy who have profound hearing loss...

When he was 2 years old, the boy was suspected to have hearing loss, but the importance of early intervention was not made aware to the parents and they just assume that they should send the boy to the School for Raising Disabled Children in Long An Province...

The family is big, and parents survive by running a small grocery store, which barely make enough money for food... and hence could not afford to buy hearing aids. To make matter worse, through an earlier donation programme, he was given 1 china hearing aid which was not programmed and also not powerful enough for his hearing loss...

Through Minh Hoa Hearing, as well as the school, we are pleased to sponsor a pair of power hearing aids for the boy, so that he can excel better in class and academics... Hopefully this small gesture will make a big change in his life...

Met this 70 years old lady, who is suffering from cancer... Besides struggling financially to buy medicine and enduring the pain, she still have to take care of her paralysed husband... Her daughter was married off far away, and unfortunately their family was also not financially well off...

With severe hearing loss on both ears, she is unable to communicate with anyone, friends or neighbour... and could not even call and talk to her daughter... Its really sad...

Through Thien Duc Hearing and Hoa Lu Hospital, we are very glad to be able to sponsor her a pair of hearing aids! We hope to be able to bring a little sweetness to her current bitter life... Hear Well, Live Better...
