Paws for Compassion

Paws for Compassion We strive to inspire a greater sense of compassion and responsibility for pets. We strive to inspire a greater sense of empathy and responsibility for pets.

Our mission is to improve the welfare of our companion animals in central Việt Nam by combating animal cruelty and pet overpopulation through education and rehabilitation. Paws for Compassion (PFC) was founded in Danang, Vietnam in 2015 by two animal enthusiasts and educators, who saw the need for animal education in the region. PFC was created to inform and educate individuals about the animal cruelty that is taking place within their communities. A program aimed at youth with the intents of informing them about humane animal welfare education. PFC serves the community by providing safety, medical treatment, and rehabilitation to help stray dogs and cats become adoptable. Our mission is to improve the welfare of animals by combating animal cruelty and pet overpopulation through education. Ideally whole communities and groups will stand up, raise their voices and take action towards improving animal rights. Empowering the youth to make a difference increases the potential of making a more caring, interactive and loving world. Rehabilitate and Adopt- To provide a safe, temporary shelter to stray animals for the purpose of finding forever homes. Spay and Neuter- To provide assistance and an affordable spay and neuter program to prevent overpopulation. Community Outreach -To educate communities and raise awareness about responsible pet ownership with a focus on developing a youth campaign to eliminate the dog meat trade, demand, and consumption in Vietnam. Go Green Mondays- To promote and encourage restaurants and schools to adopt the Humane Society’s meat free Mondays campaign. Our Goal is to prevent cruelty to animals, to improve the welfare of companion animals and to bring about a much needed, long-term change from the animals being victims, to being valuable members of a community. PFC believes that it is inherent upon people to speak up for these animals and take action so that sustainable animal husbandry become the expected and only acceptable way to treat our four legged friends. Children Changing the Future for Animals
PFC combats animal cruelty through a Community Educational Program for learners of all ages. We believe building awareness in the younger generation, while cultivating the bond between pets and peoples, leads to humane treatment for all. Our learning program facilitates lessons of compassion and respect for animals. Activities and education are taught in English and Vietnamese with variety of topics. Our educational team makes class visits in schools and provides an off-site lesson option. The proceeds from the course are used to benefit and provide for the animals in need. Please visit our website to learn more! Dog & Cat Meat Trade
Thus our main focus and reason why we are committed to educating, advocating, and raising awareness in the community and all of Southeast Asia is the canine and feline meat trade. The dog and cat meat trade is the greatest animal welfare concern, in Vietnam and in the world. It is the only trade known to encourage mass unregulated movement, slaughter, and sale of over 30 million dogs each year with Vietnam demanding the highest amount of meat. Not only do stolen pets and street dogs suffer unimaginably, this mass movement is a significant health risk and potential transmission of animal borne diseases to humans, particularly rabies. Studies have revealed high incidence of rabies-infected dogs in restaurants, slaughterhouses, and markets throughout the region. This is a danger to pets, their owners, as well all people. HOW YOU CAN HELP
A pet is more than an animal, it is a friend that will give endless love. Pet owners are already well aware of this fact. Dogs and cats improve the quality of life by decreasing stress, lowering cholesterol, improving immunity and many more intangible benefits! If pets are the best medicine then why are so many neglected, homeless, and abused? Join us in our pledge to end animal suffering
-Speed up recovery time and mental health by providing a foster home.
-Become educated of the terrible, everyday suffering that occurs to these victims in the meat market trade.
-Volunteer your time
-Help us facilitate our educational program throughout all of Vietnam
-Make a financial contribution. Please feel free to email me with any questions, concerns, or ways you would like to help. [email protected]

Thank you,

Our dogs have moved into their new home! Can you help us cover the final costs to make it complete? 🏠

Our dogs have officially moved into their new shelter, and it means so much to finally see them enjoying the space we’ve been working towards for months.

The stress, tears, sleepless nights and worrying over where our dogs will end up if we don’t complete this build, are all made worth it when we see them finally in their new home.

Our disabled pups are enjoying the smooth floors in their dedicated zone, while the rest of the pack are loving having room to stretch their legs and zoom around the garden. This safe haven was built to protect vulnerable animals for years to come, and our builders have put so much heart and hard work into making it possible.

But while our dogs are finally inside, the work isn’t quite finished yet. We are still short of $3,500 (approximately 91,000,000 VND) to settle the final bill with our hardworking builders.

Your kind donations mean everything to us right now - we just need $3,500, and the only way to finish is with your help! Please, if you can spare any amount, donate to our new dog shelter today: 👉https://donorbox.org/build-our-shelter

If you’re looking for a sign to help out at a shelter this year, let this be it! 🧡

We are looking for rescue helpers who can support the daily care of our dogs and cats, as well as giving them some love and affection along the way.

For many of our animals, the time spend with rescue helpers and visitors is a vital part of their development and really helps them get ready for their forever homes.

So, if you are in the Da Nang area and are able to commit to 3 hours a week for a minimum of 2 months we would love to hear from you!

From being abandoned in a dump, to finding his forever home, Bambi’s journey is proof that love can truly transform lives! 🐶❤️

When we rescued him from Điện Ngọc, Bambi was lethargic, had a swollen stomach, and was covered in severe demodectic mange. His condition made it hard to imagine the happy little dog hiding underneath it all.

But as his health improved, his confidence grew too. His fluffy coat returned, his energy came back, and so did the clever, playful Bambi we came to know and love.

Now, Bambi has officially been adopted! He’s found his forever family, and we couldn’t be happier knowing he now has a loving home to call his own. We’ll miss having this sweet boy around, but knowing he’s heading into a life filled with love makes saying goodbye a little easier.🏡❤️

Paws for Compassion is helping share a few lovely dogs who are looking for foster homes or their forever families.

🐶 5 playful puppies: Five rescued puppies are waiting to travel to their adoptive homes in Poland once their paperwork is complete. Until then, they need a loving temporary home for the next 4–5 months, with daily walks, meals, playtime and plenty of cuddles.

📲 If you can help, please contact Anna via FB: https://www.facebook.com/share/1EQgkbx1E3/?mibextid=wwXIfr

🐾 Two happy little brothers: These two 3-month-old boys are looking for a forever home in Da Nang or Hoi An. They’re sweet, playful and already doing so well with their training. They know how to use a p*e pad, sit, and will happily come running when you whistle. 💕

⏰ They have just 2 weeks to find a safe home.

🐕 A friendly boy in Hoi An: This lovely 1.5–2-year-old boy is currently being fostered in Hoi An and is looking for a new foster or forever home before his fosterer leaves Vietnam at the end of the year. He’s a friendly, happy boy who loves playing with everyone, is neutered and walks well on a leash.

📲 If you can help the puppies or the happy pup, please contact Trạm Xanh - Cứu trợ chó mèo Quảng Bình

If you can foster, adopt, or simply help spread the word, please reach out via Facebook. A share might be exactly what helps them find their people.

They say first impressions really do count, and Ramen certainly made hers! Ramen has finally found her forever family!

The moment her new parents walked through the door of our Cat House, Ramen was instantly on duty as the official welcome squad. She was the first to greet them with her friendly meows and gentle cuddles, leaving an impression so strong that no one else stood a chance! After meeting all the kitties, they knew instantly that Ramen was the one for them. 💖

This happy ending is so special for a girl who has been through so much. Abandoned at our clinic gate at just four weeks old with her siblings, Ramen fought off a terrifying battle with FPV, and then FIP - two deadly diseases that prove what a fighter she is.

We couldn’t be happier to now see Ramen settled into her forever home! A massive thank you to her new family for opening their hearts to our lovely girl.

If you’re ready to let a rescue steal your heart at first sight, take a look through our Cats Available for Adoption album and see who is waiting to greet you next!

Look what YOU helped build. 🏠

Just a little while ago this was an empty shell. Now our dogs have a real roof over their heads to keep them safe and dry through Da Nang’s heavy rains. Our disabled dogs’ area is also complete with safe smooth flooring and secure fencing ready for our special needs pups.

And honestly we can’t thank you enough. To everyone who donated shared our posts checked in on the progress or simply cheered our dogs on from afar. You helped turn four walls into a real home.

The shelter is now fully built and ready for our dogs. We just have one last thing to take care of, the $3,300 remaining (approx. 85,800,000 VND) to settle the final construction bill with our builders.

Can you help us raise the remaining $3,300? Every donation will help us pay the people who worked so hard to make this home possible.

We’ve come this far together. Let’s finish this last part👉 https://donorbox.org/build-our-shelter
