Catalyst for Change Vietnam - C4C

Catalyst for Change Vietnam - C4C Coins for Change (C4C) is a non-profit social enterprise that aids disenfranchised women and children throughout Vietnam.

Catalyst for Change (C4C) is a not-profit social enterprise that creates positive impact on Vietnamese children and women, through educational volunteerism, cultural immersion and empowerment. Our mission is to empower women with skills and resources to overcome social and economic challenges and to pursue opportunities. Our programs serve urban and rural families through educational and business

support. With a focus on serving marginalized women such as low-income women, ethnic minorities, women in rural areas, domestic violence survivors, single mothers, and disabled women, we help remove the obstacles that prevent these disadvantaged groups from achieving success and gender equality within their communities and within Vietnam. Through our educational and business campaigns, we offer free vocational training, job placement, free and low-cost English classes for women and children, online and offline support groups, mental health awareness, business support, and online lessons. Our campaigns focus on building life skills and providing training that increases independence and fair opportunities. Officially established in December 2015, C4C now offers a wide range of services related to education and business within Vietnam through two programs:

1) Teach for Change connects international English teaching volunteers with our partner schools and English centers. In alignment with the women-empowering mission of Coins for Change–TFC’s founder organization–we focus on supporting female-led schools and English centers across Vietnam. Through this program, we are able to provide English language services to women and children across Vietnam, particularly those in the countryside, who would otherwise not have access to them. Teach for Change offers them free or low-cost access to English classes and other educational enhancement and literacy programs.

2) The Empowerment Plan aims to support disadvantaged women from multiple demographics in Vietnam, including low-income women, single mothers, disabled women, ethnic minority women, domestic violence victims, and others. Coins for Change provides holistic support to women through an expansive online network, free vocational training, job placement, online and offline support groups, business opportunities, and free or low-cost English classes for their children.

Things to know before volunteering in Vietnam✨

Volunteering here can come with a bit of culture shock at first, from flexible time schedules to busy streets and constant honking 😅 But once you understand the rhythm of daily life, it all starts to make sense.
Vietnam teaches you to slow down, stay flexible, and embrace the unexpected 🤍
If you’re planning to volunteer, stay open-minded and trust the experience! It’s all part of the journey 🌏
Save this for later & share it with someone who should join you ✈️

On the ground with our Teach for Change hosts 🇻🇳

This week, we had the pleasure of visiting our incredible host families, Ms. Quynh in Hanoi and Ms. Thuy in Ninh Bình, who open their homes and hearts to our volunteers.

We also warmly welcomed Arlettys, our volunteer, as she begins her journey in Hanoi!

From city streets to peaceful countryside, and a visit to our Sunflower English Center in Ninh Bình, it’s these local connections that make every experience truly meaningful.

On the 10th march (lunar calendar) the Hùng Kings are remembered as the legendary founders of Vietnam, figures whose vision and leadership laid the first foundations of a nation🕯️

More than historical rulers, they represent the origin of a people, a shared identity, and a deep sense of unity that has endured across centuries. Their legacy lives on through traditions, cultural values, and the stories passed down from generation to generation.

This day stands as a tribute to ancestry and heritage, honoring the roots from which Vietnam was born and the strength that has carried its people through time. It reflects a lasting connection between past and present, reminding us of the importance of remembering where we come from.

Across the world, their spirit continues to unite communities, preserving a sense of belonging, pride, and cultural continuity that transcends borders🌍

Remembering the Hùng Kings🙏

HerKitchen in Hội An set in a traditional Vietnamese wooden house that feels like a living gallery of everyday artifacts from the past. 🍃
Here, you’ll discover rare wild Shan Tuyết tea from the high mountains of Hà Giang, harvested from centuries-old trees and certified organic to European standards.

It is more than just a café!
Take your time exploring a range of ancient Shan Tuyết teas, from green and white to pu-erh, each one shaped by the mountains it comes from. Sit in on a tea brewing session and get a feel for Vietnam’s tea culture, or learn how to make traditional phin coffee yourself. And if you’re hungry, don’t miss xôi xéo, a Northern Vietnamese sticky rice dish that’s simple, comforting, and full of flavor.

Even more meaningful: HerKitchen is part of a social enterprise dedicated to empowering single mothers through vocational training and sustainable employment, where every visit helps create stable livelihoods and brighter futures for the women behind the space.💛

Closing | weltwärts Southeast Asia Partner Conference 2026

Five days, countless conversations, and one shared journey.

Day 4 brought us into smaller circles through Thematic Working Groups — spaces for deeper exchange, co-creation, and shaping ideas that can move forward beyond the conference.

As the sun set, the atmosphere transformed into something truly special. During Cultural Night, each country brought a piece of home to the stage — through music, dance, games, and traditions. A celebration of diversity, identity, and the joy of learning from one another beyond words.

On our final day, we turned our focus to the future:
What’s next for weltwärts?
Through conversations on opportunities and perspectives, participants reflected not only on what has been built — but what can grow from here.

We closed with evaluation, a heartfelt certificate ceremony, and farewells that didn’t quite feel like endings. Because what was created here goes beyond these five days — it lives on in the connections, ideas, and partnerships carried forward by each participant.

A heartfelt thank you to .ev, .vietnam, , with support from and , for making this gathering possible.

Grateful for every moment shared. Until we meet again 🌿

Day 2 & 3 | weltwärts Southeast Asia Partner Conference 2026

The past two days have been a journey of deep exchange, reflection, and connection.

Day 2 brought full and thoughtful discussions, from volunteer services in a changing context to administrative realities, visa processes, and child rights policies. Through open conversations and World Café sessions, participants shared challenges, experiences, and ideas across countries.

The day closed on a high note with the Market of the Partners, a vibrant space where organisations showcased their work through products, stories, and project displays. It was more than an exhibition; it was a moment of connection, exchange, and celebration.

Day 3 shifted into reflection and impact. Together, we explored the role of the weltwärts programme in the Global South, and the meaningful contributions of returnees in strengthening local engagement and partnerships.

In the afternoon, participants stepped outside the conference room for a field visit to Sơn Trà Peninsula, connecting with Viet Endangered Narratives. It was a chance to experience firsthand how storytelling, conservation, and community work come together on the ground.

From deep discussions to real-world connection, these two days have continued to build not just knowledge — but a shared sense of purpose.
