Catalyst for Change Vietnam - C4C Coins for Change (C4C) is a non-profit social enterprise that aids disenfranchised women and children throughout Vietnam.

Catalyst for Change (C4C) is a not-profit social enterprise that creates positive impact on Vietnamese children and women, through educational volunteerism, cultural immersion and empowerment. Our mission is to empower women with skills and resources to overcome social and economic challenges and to pursue opportunities. Our programs serve urban and rural families through educational and business support. With a focus on serving marginalized women such as low-income women, ethnic minorities, women in rural areas, domestic violence survivors, single mothers, and disabled women, we help remove the obstacles that prevent these disadvantaged groups from achieving success and gender equality within their communities and within Vietnam. Through our educational and business campaigns, we offer free vocational training, job placement, free and low-cost English classes for women and children, online and offline support groups, mental health awareness, business support, and online lessons. Our campaigns focus on building life skills and providing training that increases independence and fair opportunities. Officially established in December 2015, C4C now offers a wide range of services related to education and business within Vietnam through two programs:

1) Teach for Change connects international English teaching volunteers with our partner schools and English centers. In alignment with the women-empowering mission of Coins for Change–TFC’s founder organization–we focus on supporting female-led schools and English centers across Vietnam. Through this program, we are able to provide English language services to women and children across Vietnam, particularly those in the countryside, who would otherwise not have access to them. Teach for Change offers them free or low-cost access to English classes and other educational enhancement and literacy programs.

2) The Empowerment Plan aims to support disadvantaged women from multiple demographics in Vietnam, including low-income women, single mothers, disabled women, ethnic minority women, domestic violence victims, and others. Coins for Change provides holistic support to women through an expansive online network, free vocational training, job placement, online and offline support groups, business opportunities, and free or low-cost English classes for their children.

For Annila, her mother has always been someone willing to try, to learn, and to step beyond what was expected of her. Through hard work, confidence, and a willingness to keep exploring new things, she showed Annila that our circumstances do not have to define what we are capable of.

Perhaps one of the most important lessons is also one of the simplest: don’t limit yourself because of where you are or what others expect you to be.

MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL: UNDER THE SAME MOON

In Vietnam, the Mid-Autumn Festival is also known as the Festival of Reunion, a time when families come together, share mooncakes, enjoy tea and spend a warm evening with one another. For children, Mid-Autumn Festival is filled with even more excitement: colorful lanterns lighting up the streets, the sound of lion dance drums, the cheerful Earth God waving his fan alongside the lion dancers and evenings spent playing with friends around the neighborhood.

This 20th September, we are bringing some of these beloved traditions to our Weekend Market, creating a space where everyone can make, taste, explore and simply enjoy being together.

WHO IS SHE? | Season 1, Episode 2 | Mạnh and his mother

In Episode 1, Manh shared what it was like growing up apart from his mother, a distance shaped not by choice, but by sacrifice. She left home to work, to provide for him and to support their family.

Now, in Episode 2, Manh returns with a new question:
What is her superpower?

Through his answer, we see another side of the woman behind the word "mother", her resilience, sacrifice and the quiet strength it takes to keep going for the people she loves.

WHO IS SHE? | Season 1, Episode 1 | Mạnh and his mother

Growing up as the son of a single mother, Mạnh spent much of his childhood away from her. While she worked far from home to support the family, he was raised by his grandparents and learned, little by little, to understand the sacrifices behind her absence.

What once felt like distance eventually became understanding.

As he grew older, Mạnh chose to work hard and build a better life for himself and his mother. After finding some stability of his own, he brought her to Da Nang so they could finally live closer, spend more time together, and make up for some of the years they had spent apart.

In this first episode of WHO IS SHE?, Mạnh shares what it was like growing up without his mother constantly by his side, how his perspective changed as he became older, and what her strength and sacrifices mean to him today.
