Our amazing food vendors really outdid themselves by making sure there was something delicious for everyone. Chef Durant and his team whipped up some delicious sliders and wings, while Local & Tasty and Twin Dreads brought their own tasty local delicacies to the table.

Thank you all for bringing your dishes!

Meet our Judges for the Contest!

Starting with Coreen Samuel:

An ancestral Native of the Virgin Islands, Coreen Samuel retired to St. John in 2017 after a 33-year career in Houston, TX. During her residency in Houston, TX, she has worked as a Teacher, Teacher- Researcher, a "Wroters in School" instructor, a Literacy Collaborative Coordinator, and a Teacher Trainer. Her passions include literature, art, history, and culture. These passions led her to launch the VISCWP Young Writers Camp in 2008, which was sponsored by a grant from the VI Humanitaries Organization and later sponsored by the St. John School or the Arts. In 2018, after the devastation left by hurricanes Irma and Maria, she launched the "Mapping the Heart" Writing Project, which allowed children to share their stories after experiencing the aftermath of the storms. This project was conducted in local schools, including the Gift Hill School and Christian Academy. With each endeavor, her focus has been on the preservation of culture through storytelling.

Next, we have Jucinto Durant:

Chef Jucinto Durant is a St. Thomas native and Johnson & Wales University alumnus with a dynamic background in culinary arts and hospitality management. His career includes serving as a Restaurant Manager with Norwegian Cruise Line, where he helped deliver high-level dining experiences to thousands of guests in a fast-paced, global environment. Now a former Culinary Instructor, Jucinto brings his expertise to his work as a Private Chef, Restaurant Consultant, and hospitality partner, collaborating with local businesses across the territory. His approach is rooted in classical training, elevated Caribbean influences, and a commitment to creating memorable, high-quality dining experiences.

And finally Jason Cawthorn:
Jason Cawthron is the founder of Dissenting Spirits Professionals, a consulting firm specializing in product development, production efficiency, and market‑fit analysis for spirits brands. His consulting work is grounded in 16 years as a high‑end, high‑volume cocktail bartender and beverage consultant, where he developed a deep understanding of flavor structure, operational flow, and guest experiences.
