The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) is thrilled to announce the launch of its Job Readiness Summer Program, aimed at empowering graduating high school seniors with essential skills for entering the workforce. The program is developed and administered by UVI's University Bound program, in collaboration with Cruzan Rum Distillery and the V.I. Department of Labor.

The initiative represents a significant step towards preparing the next generation of professionals and is open to high school seniors in the St. Croix and St. Thomas/St. John Districts. The Job Readiness Summer Program will kick off with an intensive one-week boot camp, followed by a paid work experience that will expose them to various industries and professional environments.

Nine High School seniors will be honored at the 31st Annual Youth Role Model Awards Luncheon at 12:30 pm on Sunday, June 5, 2022.

Proceeds, made possible by generous donors, go to provide scholarships and laptops for each honoree and the graduating seniors of the University Bound Program.
