Earlier today, from 12–2 PM at the Dining Pavilion, UVI’s annual Club Fair welcomed our newest Buccaneers! Campus clubs and student organizations, including ENC, SGA, the Anime Club, Criminal Justice Club, USVI Rugby Club, and many others, connected with new students, shared opportunities to get involved, and showed them how to find their home away from home.

Join Virgin Islands author and cultural storyteller Myron Allick for readings and signings of Bomba: The Story of a Virgin Islands Hero. Light refreshments will be served.

Written by the youngest son of legendary Virgin Islands mariner Wilfred “Bomba” Allick Sr., the book draws on family archives, oral histories, research and personal memories to preserve his extraordinary life and the traditions of the Virgin Islands’ maritime community.

The University of the Virgin Islands mourns the passing of Trustee Emeritus Roy D. Jackson, Sr., MBA, CPA, whose remarkable relationship with UVI spanned decades.

A proud UVI alumnus who earned his MBA in 1985, Mr. Jackson gave back to his alma mater in many ways — as an adjunct faculty member, a member and longtime committee chair of the Board of Trustees, a Trustee Emeritus and a financial supporter.

“Mr. Jackson’s decades-long relationship with UVI and the many ways in which he gave his knowledge, expertise, time and resources speak to his extraordinary commitment to this institution,” said UVI President Dr. Safiya George.

UVI and its Board of Trustees extend heartfelt condolences to his wife, Merilyn Jackson, his family, friends, colleagues and all who mourn his passing.

We honor his life, his service and his enduring legacy at UVI.
