📢 UVI Board of Trustees to Meet on Oct. 17
The University of the Virgin Islands Board of Trustees will hold its regularly scheduled meeting at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026. The meeting is open to the public and may be accessed virtually through Microsoft Teams.
Agenda items include academic transformation, student success, the Fiscal Year 2027 budget, audit progress, capital projects, fundraising and alumni participation goals, Board governance policies, and institutional planning.

💙💛 Celebrating Student Research, Innovation and Discovery at UVI! 🔬🎓

Bright minds, bold ideas and exciting discoveries were on full display at the University of the Virgin Islands’ 2026 Annual Fall Student Research Symposium, held last month on our St. Thomas and St. Croix campuses!

Our talented student researchers took center stage, showcasing their research, sharing their findings and demonstrating the power of curiosity, critical thinking and innovation.

Hosted by UVI’s Emerging Caribbean Scientists (ECS) Program and College of Science and Mathematics, the symposium highlighted the incredible opportunities available for students to engage in meaningful research, gain hands-on experience and develop skills that prepare them to become tomorrow’s scientists, innovators and leaders.

👏 Congratulations to all our student researchers! Your hard work, dedication and passion for discovery continue to make the UVI community proud!

🌊 From the Virgin Islands to Honduras! 🤿
We’re proud of UVI Youth Ocean Explorers Zuma Nisbett, Zoe Danet and Ava Smith, who took their passion for the ocean to new depths during an intensive two-week marine conservation experience in Utila, Honduras.
Through the Diving With a Purpose CARES program, the students worked as citizen scientists while sharpening their diving skills, identifying marine species, removing marine debris and learning coral-restoration techniques.

Experiences like this are what Youth Ocean Explorers is all about: giving young Virgin Islanders the skills, confidence and opportunities to become the next generation of marine scientists and ocean stewards. 💙
