At H.O.P.E. Incorporated, we believe that healing is essential, but healing is not the end of the journey. Liberation is.

In this powerful conversation, our Executive Director DrKhnuma Dubya shares her story of survivorship, purpose, and the path from healing to liberation. She explores how personal experiences with trauma, resilience, advocacy, and community helped shape not only her life's work but also her vision for creating spaces where survivors can move beyond survival and into freedom, joy, connection, and purpose.

The conversation also explores the philosophy behind Girlfriendism (our founding organization) as an "ism" rooted in Love & Liberation. In a world where women and girls, particularly women and girls of color, are often impacted by oppressive systems and harmful "isms," Girlfriendism was intentionally created as a liberating framework centered on healing, friendship, trust, compassion, community, and collective wellness.

Because our goal is not simply to help victims survive violence - our goal is to support survivors in reclaiming their power, rediscovering their voice, and moving toward liberation.

πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ June is LGBTQ+ Pride Month πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

This month, we celebrate love, authenticity, courage, and the right of every person to live safely and fully as themselves.

As we honor the LGBTQ+ community, we also recognize that LGBTQ+ individuals experience sexual violence, intimate partner violence, and stalking at disproportionately high rates. Research shows that nearly 4 in 5 bisexual women, 3 in 5 le***an women, and 3 in 5 gay men report experiencing contact sexual violence during their lifetimes.

At H.O.P.E. and throughout the Girlfriendism community, we believe that every survivor deserves to be seen, believed, supported, and empowered on their healing journey.

This Pride Month, let us continue creating communities where people can live, love, heal, and thrive without fear.

πŸ’œ We honor survivors.
πŸ’™ We celebrate resilience.
πŸ’š We stand for love, liberation, and belonging.
