Today was one of those days that reminds us why we do this work. ❤️🐾

A heartfelt thank you to the incredible Bohlke family and everyone at Bohlke Aviation for their unwavering support of the St. Croix Animal Welfare Center.

Not only did they generously sponsor a kennel at our Pet Place adoption center, but today they took it one step further by adopting the very dog who had been calling that kennel home. 🥹

Nibs, now lovingly renamed Lima, truly hit the jackpot with her furever family. 🐶 At just 2 years old, she has so much life and love ahead of her. As a large adult dog, she faced some of the longest odds for adoption, making today’s happy ending even more meaningful.

This is the kind of full-circle story every shelter dreams of: a family that invests in our mission, helps provide safe housing for homeless pets, and then opens their own home to one of them. 🩷

Thank you, Bohlke Aviation, for your years of consistent generosity, community leadership, and for giving Lima the future she deserves. We couldn’t be more grateful.

Congratulations, Lima! Here’s to a lifetime of adventures, belly rubs, and unconditional love. 🐕🏡

Well Sheena tried to steal a plane to fly her friends stateside to a partner shelter this morning but things didn’t quite go as planned. She realized without opposable thumbs she couldn’t work the controls. Whoops!!!! She got paperwork somehow and clearance to taxi, but taxi aborted. Rumor has it Handsome Dan was doing the pushback saying “ my daddy taught me” all was going well until a piece of chicken sandwich rolled by…. So close!! Pushback aborted.
Now that leaves it up to Paws from Paradise cargo transport s to do it for her. We could definitely use a little help with funding for our flights though. It doesn’t matter if it’s $1 or $1000, every little bit helps. You can drop a check by the shelter or pop a check in the mail, please specify in memo section PFP flights. You can also go directly to our website at www.stcroixawc.org and make a donation via credit card and specify Paws from Paradise.

This 1-year-old un-spayed female was found wandering on the north shore near Serenity’s Nest. She’s safe with us and on a 5-day stray hold while we try to reunite her with her family.

Flight number 3 from our fundraising drive in the books. This flight sponsored by Greg Christy, Janet Jessie and Doug and Jeannine Schrock. Thank you all so much for the generous donation to Paws from Paradise flights . Today 9 lucky pups headed to Pet Alliance in Orlando to start their new lives. As usual thanks to Amerijet,Air Cargo Carriers, Flemmings Transport, Paradise Freight, Blas Santiago, Del Guato Dog Training, and Centerline Car Rentals for donating a truck to the transport. The biggest of thanks to our transport drivers and dog walkers. We had an added bonus of a professional photographer Myra Ashley for these great photos. Happy life pups. Planning for the August flight in the works, the date TBD. We have had a few donations for this flight already but always looking for more to make it a reality.
