Plaster Casts of Animal Tracks 🐾

An easy and fun activity for you and the kiddos this holiday break!

Steps:
1.) Find some tracks (usually on the muddy paths that lead to the beach) The deeper the tracks, the better.

2.) Mix up some Plaster of Paris (found at Home Depot) and water in a cup with (2:1 ratio, plaster:water). This sets quickly, so don’t mix until you’re ready near the animal tracks.

3.) Pour into animal tracks and gently smooth over top side

4.) Let it sit for 30 to 45 minutes, take a walk on the beach or a snorkel.

5.) GENTLY and SLOWLY start to lift up the mold from the opposite edges. You can use a tool to pry it up, trying not to crack the mold in the center.

6.) Let it harden until you get home or even the next day. You can leave the dirt on it. Wrap it in a bag and something soft to keep it safe the whole way home.

7.) Rinse and clean with a soft brush. You can even paint or label the back to make a decoration.
