K’Nard “KC” Callendar is a 6’8”, 200 lb. basketball player born and raised in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. KC had a dominant 2023-24 basketball season with CAHS, where he led his team to a district championship while winning several awards, including, but not limited to, MVP, Scoring Champion, and Best Small Forward. After becoming the #1 ranked player in the Virgin Islands and making the All-Territory Team, KC and his family decided it would be best for him to transfer in hopes of furthering his basketball career.
With the idea of being exposed to individuals that could grant him what was turning out to be an elusive scholarship offer, the hard decision was made for him to transfer to the mainland, which he did at the beginning of the 2024-25 high school year. He enrolled in Royal Palm Beach Community High School in Royal Palm Beach, Florida, and the young phenom immediately began to make an impact on the basketball courts. He opened the basketball season with three straight triple-doubles, led the nation in rebounding for a period of time, finishing among the leaders, and was also in the top ten in blocked shots. KC finished the season leading his team, the RPBHS Wildcats, in points, rebounds, steals and blocked shots, while finishing second in assists by one tenth of a point. In the final weeks of the season, KC led his team on an eight-game winning streak that led to the District Championship, where they lost by five points. In spite of the loss, KC was balling, finishing with 26 points, 17 rebounds and 4 steals.
As a result of his on-court accomplishments, Callendar was named to the Sun-Sentinel All-County First Team. He was also awarded the Defensive Player of the Year and ranked the #1 player in the West Palm Beach District by ESPN. These awards show that he can not only compete on the national level, but shine as well. He continues to stay motivated and push toward his ultimate goal, excelling in the NBA.
