MBW Café + Bakery Trainees in Action!

Every day at MBW’s Café & Bakery, trainees build real-world 'front of house' skills like greeting customers and answering questions, taking and preparing orders, and learning to keep the café running smoothly.

At closing time, trainees complete inventory par sheets that help guide meal prep in the industrial kitchen the next morning. Best‑practice food safety standards, proper storage procedures, and thorough cleaning routines are followed to ensure the café is ready for a fresh start the next day.

MBW’s simulated work environments give young people the opportunity to hone teamwork, responsibility, and confidence - skills that graduates carry with them into their next chapters in the workforce.

MBW's Cafe & Bakery is open with extended hours TODAY from 7am-6:30pm. Come visit us at 1-6 Estate Donoe and see MBW's program, trainees, and staff in action.

There are many ways to be a part of the My Brother's Workshop (MBW) Community this August. All events are taking place at MBW's Main Campus, located at 1-6 Estate Donoe, behind Home Depot.

TODAY
MBW's Café & Bakery, behind Home Depot, has extended hours today from 7am-6:30pm - our secret ingredient is love! Come by and enjoy the delicious creations of MBW's trainees and staff.

Puzzle Club, 5-7pm - puzzlers are working to complete a 54,000 piece puzzle that will be on display in town once complete.
Cribbage Club, 6-8pm - come partake in this addictive card game. Beginners are encouraged to attend!

SATURDAY
MBW's Café & Bakery will be open from 8am-12pm.
Yoga - 9-10:30am - taught by Loren, $20. Bring your own mat. Beginners are welcome!

Archival Poetics, 10am-12pm - Pass the Word VI, in partnership with MBW, invites all to Archival Poetics: Reclaiming History Through Poetry—a free, six-part monthly writing series that explores how personal and historical archives can inspire meaningful poetry and storytelling. Workshops are held on the second Saturday of every month.

MBW is a St. Thomas-based nonprofit organization that empowers at-risk and high-risk young people through education, counseling, mentorship, paid vocational training, and job placement.
