Today we had an important meeting with members of the Norwegian Parliament (Stortinget) where Embajadores del Orinoco presented the Report of our campaign asking for the suspension of the Venezuelan state from the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization- ACTO (OTCA in Spanish).

We expressed our concern that Venezuela is hiding behind initiatives like ACTO to obtain billions in international financing and explained that Norway, as a major donor and champion of Amazon Conservation Projects, must ensure that funding of such projects is conditioned to compliance with human, environmental and indigenous rights, and subject to minimum standards of transparency and accountability.

We are grateful to Grunde Almeland of the Liberal Party and Member of the Standing Committee of Energy and the Environment for the interest and support.

At , govts will pledge millions to fund projects aiming at protecting the Amazon Rainforest 👍

The problem? Some of this will flow to those in Venezuela responsible for environmental and human devastation in the Amazon rainforest at a massive scale.

Va quedando claro que Lula, Petro y Maduro revivieron el tratado de Cooperación Amazónica para recibir fondos millonarios de actores internacionales que posiblemente serán destinados a sus propios intereses.
