17% of the population in Venezuela continues to be undernourished or hungry, according to Susana Raffalli, nutrition advisor for Caritas Venezuela. 🇻🇪💔

The Caritas Venezuela nutrition advisor also pointed out that behind the inability of families to cover their basic needs there are problems such as exposure to trafficking networks, prostitution in exchange for food and serious health consequences, such as stunted growth and cognitive problems in children.

During July and August, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Venezuela reported an increase in cases of psychological, sexual and physical violence in the states of Apure, Delta Amacuro and Zulia. 📈😕

According to its July-August 2024 Status Report, there are a number of pressing needs in different regions of the country, mainly related to mental health, access to justice, child protection and violence prevention.

In the midst of this context, Alimenta la Solidaridad has been raising awareness in order to contribute to the reduction of risk factors that affect people vulnerable to human trafficking, child sexual abuse, child maltreatment and gender-based violence. 🫶🇻🇪
