Frierson Man Killed in Desoto Parish UTV Crash…

- On July 10, 2022, just before 11:00 p.m., Troopers assigned to Louisiana State Police Troop G began investigating a one-vehicle fatality crash involving a (UTV) utility terrain vehicle on LA Hwy 5 at the intersection of Bates Road. The crash claimed the life of 30-year-old Jaquentin Brokenberry.

The initial investigation revealed that a 2016 Can-Am UTV, driven by a Brokenberry, was traveling north on LA Hwy 5. As he attempted to turn onto Bates Road, he ran off the road, overturned, and was ejected.

Brokenberry was not wearing a seat belt or a DOT-approved helmet. He was transported to Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport, where he was pronounced dead.

Troopers would like to stress the importance of utilizing proper safety equipment such as approved helmets and seat belts when operating any off-road vehicle. Additionally, it is dangerous and illegal to operate off-road vehicles (i.e., three-wheelers, four-wheelers, and other all-terrain vehicles) on any public roadway in this state.

In 2022, Troop G has investigated 21 fatal crashes, resulting in 22 deaths.

Lake Charles Trooper Placed on Leave Following Off-Duty DWI Arrest

Baton Rouge, LA – Yesterday, Louisiana State Police Troop D was contacted by the Atlanta Police Department in reference to the arrest of an off-duty Louisiana State Trooper.

Officials with the Atlanta Police Department indicated that shortly before 2:00am yesterday morning, 34-year-old Aubin Young of Lake Charles was arrested for DWI and other traffic charges following a traffic stop.

Young, currently assigned to patrol in the Troop D Lake Charles area, has been placed on administrative leave pending the investigation with all law enforcement property recovered by the department. Young has been employed with LSP since 2017.

According to reports from the Atlanta Police Department, the incident occurred when an officer observed Young traveling in the wrong direction on a city street. Upon conducting a traffic stop and coming into contact with Young, the Officer suspected impairment and completed a series of standardized field sobriety tests. Young was placed under arrest for DWI and later transported to the City of Atlanta Jail.

Service Man Arrested for Distributing Child Po*******hy

Bossier Sheriff’s Office detectives have arrested a Barksdale Air Force Base airman for distributing child sexual abuse images.

Matthew Daigle, 23, of the 300 block of Gaston Lane in Bossier City, was arrested after an investigation revealed that he distributed po*******hy involving juveniles.

Detectives obtained and executed a search warrant at Daigle’s residence where they seized his electronic devices. Those devices will undergo a digital forensic examination to determine if there are more images stored on them.

Daigle was taken to the detective’s office and interviewed where they say he was cooperative and confessed to distributing the pornographic images. Daigle was charged with two counts of Distributing Po*******hy Involving Juveniles. He is booked into the Bossier Max. No bond has been set in this case.

This matter is still under investigation. Detectives with the Bossier Sheriff’s Office continue to aggressively investigate child sexual abuse cases with the ICAC Team, the Attorney General’s Office, and with the aid of the latest technology. They encourage anyone with information regarding this crime or any other crimes against children to contact the Bossier Sheriff’s Office at (318) 965-2203.
