Seven years ago, these Knightstown High School seniors were just 5th graders meeting ICAN facility dog Freddy for the first time.

Today, he got to cheer them on as they crossed the graduation stage.

They grew up.
He grew with them.
And together, they unleashed abilities that will carry them far.

Freddy’s final send‑off:
“Release! Go do big things!” 🎓💙✨

⛳️ The 6th Annual Dogs for Vets Golf Scramble was a powerful reminder of what community can accomplish together. Held at Eel River Golf Course and organized by Order of the Eastern Star and ICAN volunteer Melissa Stuckey, the event brought out more than 100 golfers ready to support ICAN’s mission.

🐕‍🦺 While ICAN service dogs are trained to help in a variety of ways, this event raises funds to specifically help veterans in need—and our dogs are trained to help Indiana veterans navigate the daily challenges of service‑related trauma.

Our psychiatric service dogs provide grounding, emotional support, mobility assistance, and life‑changing companionship. These dogs become trusted partners who help veterans reclaim their independence.

But this level of training takes time, expertise, and resources.

🐾 Each service dog costs ICAN over $30,000 to train.

💌 That’s why events like this matter so deeply—they help ensure veterans receive their service dogs without any placement fee, removing financial stress from an already difficult journey.

❤️🤍💙🇺🇸 Thank you to everyone who played, volunteered, donated, or cheered us on. Your support truly transforms lives.

The is all about speed, precision, and teamwork — and honestly, so is the journey of a service dog in training. 🏎️🐾

On this race day, while drivers chase the checkered flag, ICAN service dogs are racing toward a different kind of victory: empowering Hoosiers with independence, confidence, and connection.

Here's to the heroes on the track and the heroes on four paws who change lives every day. 🏁🐶

Our mobility assistance dogs are trained to do something truly life‑changing — they can pick up everyday items by name. Whether it’s a remote control or a cell phone, or anything someone uses often, these amazing dogs can learn to retrieve it on command.

For individuals who have difficulty bending over or experience dexterity challenges, this isn’t just a convenience — it’s independence.

And just another way ICAN dogs are unleashing abilities and empowering people to lead the lives they deserve.

💙🐶✨

🎉 A huge shoutout to Chick-fil-A West Carmel for generously donating part of their earnings last week to fuel our mission!

Their support helps us continue unleashing abilities for Indiana adults, children, and veterans living with disabilities, and we couldn’t be more grateful for this community partnership. 🐔

👟 James is why we run.

🐕‍🦺 He’s a Veteran carrying the unseen wounds of war — and he’s hoping for the service dog match that will help him regain independence and stability.

💙 You can help make that match possible.

Join us for the ICAN Salute to Service 5K and Family Walk, presented by Stoops for Troops (Stoops Freightliner - Western Star & Stoops Trailers), on August 1 at Kreager Park in Fort Wayne. Every registration supports Veterans like James who are longing for the life‑changing gift of a service dog.

🏃 Run for James. Run for those still fighting. Run for those who served.

Be like ICAN Reba.

Tap. Treat. Repeat. 💳🐕💛

Reba loves a good card tap — not just for the treat, but because she knows she’s helping more Hoosiers gain independence through highly trained service dogs like herself.

It costs more than $30,000 to train one, and ICAN covers most of that cost so clients pay less than 10%. Qualifying veterans? The placement fee is waived.

Your support keeps this mission moving.

🧹 Clean up on aisle 4!

🐕‍🦺 Service dog in training Oak found a dog‑food explosion during a trip to the grocery store and still stayed focused, proving that even surprise messes can turn into solid training moments.
