⛳️ The 6th Annual Dogs for Vets Golf Scramble was a powerful reminder of what community can accomplish together. Held at Eel River Golf Course and organized by Order of the Eastern Star and ICAN volunteer Melissa Stuckey, the event brought out more than 100 golfers ready to support ICAN’s mission.
🐕🦺 While ICAN service dogs are trained to help in a variety of ways, this event raises funds to specifically help veterans in need—and our dogs are trained to help Indiana veterans navigate the daily challenges of service‑related trauma.
Our psychiatric service dogs provide grounding, emotional support, mobility assistance, and life‑changing companionship. These dogs become trusted partners who help veterans reclaim their independence.
But this level of training takes time, expertise, and resources.
🐾 Each service dog costs ICAN over $30,000 to train.
💌 That’s why events like this matter so deeply—they help ensure veterans receive their service dogs without any placement fee, removing financial stress from an already difficult journey.
❤️🤍💙🇺🇸 Thank you to everyone who played, volunteered, donated, or cheered us on. Your support truly transforms lives.
