Thank you to ALL of our volunteers and everyone who made it out today. We had a fantastic turnout despite what was going to be a very rainy day!

We received some feedback from several groups that they were seeing significantly less trash in our annually visited locations. This is EXACTLY the change we want to see and getting to be a part of that transformation has us so grateful for the time and effort our community puts into keeping Emmaus and Upper Milford beautiful. Sponsors, you continue to make this event possible and after 20 years of clean up we have made tangible impact on our town.

Along with our 20th Anniversary bags (THANK YOU💚 Ai Orthodontics ) we will be offering volunteers native plant perennial seeds for their gardens this year!

They will get to choose from Scarlet Bee Balm, White Turtlehead (thank you Chris Jones-Rader ), Pink Joe Pye W**d, Golden Alexander, and White Yarrow.

If you were ever wondering if the cigarette butts you see piling up next to storm drains end up in the Little Lehigh, they do. Cellulose acetate is a man-made material (and no it isnt a harmless plant cellulose). A plastic material entering our waterways, our fisheries, the stomachs of our trout. Toxic chemicals that do not degrade.

Are you passionate about protecting our community and the environment? The Emmaus Borough / Upper Milford Township Joint Environmental Advisory Council (EAC) is looking for two new volunteers to help us continue our mission of promoting environmental stewardship, and community engagement.

As a volunteer on our council, you’ll get the chance to:
- Participate in local environmental planning and initiatives
- Learn about land use, water quality, and sustainable development
- Coordinate community events like Earth Day cleanups, recycling drives, and educational workshops
- Work with local officials, organizations, and residents to make a tangible impact
- Gain valuable skills in project management, public outreach, and environmental policy

Whether you’re looking to learn new skills, give back to your community, or connect with like-minded neighbors, this is a great opportunity to get involved and make a difference.

Longer days, thawing soil, and the first bird calls — Pennsylvania is slowly coming back to life.
