This holiday season ZMHS students and staff have created several ways for our community to participate in giving to those in need. Please consider contributing to these organizations this December.

— ZHS DECA has partnered with Passng the Bread in Zimmerman to complete a food drive. Our music staff and students have also joined this effort to collect food items to donate. DECA students will deliver all items to passing the bread on Wednesday the 17th and get to explore how a non-profit organization runs these events.

— Our Zimmerman National Honors Society has also partnered with Neighbors Helping Neighbors by hosting a change war battle between first hour classes. Have students add to their class total by bringing in spare change to first hour and sabotage other first hour classes by dropping bills into their bucket. Proceeds from change wars will serve 85 families and over 200 children in the Zimmerman community!

How will you give this winter?

Change Wars ends this week on Friday. Food items for the food drive will collected on Monday, December 15 during 5th hour.

Go to the Zimmerman Thunder football game tonight as they take on Mound Westonka at home. This will be the last opportunity to buy Tackle Cancer merchandise to support the Randy Shaver community fund and the Palmer family. Look for the DECA sales table near the entrance of the stadium. The table will be open from 5 PM until the halfway point of the 1st quarter. Already decked out for pink out? Consider donating to the Zimmerman Thunder QB club as they organize funds to donate. October marks the start of breast cancer awareness month. Zimmerman football & ZHS DECA are working to help raise funds for Randy Shaver’s Tackle Cancer community fund. Zimmerman Students and Staff have helped support this cause by purchasing Tackle Cancer merchandise.

Since opening shirt sales on September 22nd, we have raised $3,780 of our total $5,000 fundraising goal. The best news is that Tackle Cancer week has just begun! We look forward to our communities continued support as the week continues. For those that are all set for “Pink Out!” please consider donating directly via the Zimmerman Football Club. Donations will be given to the Tackle Cancer fund and to support the Palmer family.

For non-students and staff of ZMHS, there is a community pickup tonight at the Zimmermam football field entrance tonight from 2:50-4:20 PM. Please pick up any shirts ordered through our online store. Shirts will be available for purchase as well!

ZMHS Students and Staff, help the Zimmerman Football team support Randy Shaver’s Tackle Cancer Fund by pre-ordering your Tackle Cancer merchandise. Pre-ordered products will be distributed September 30th-October 3rd. Tackle Cancer week starts Monday, October 6th and shirts will be worn Friday during the football game on October 10th. Limited quantities are available, get yours now!
