Our new Lions year starts July 1st come join us for our general membership meeting tomorrow, June 10th and kick off our new year as a new member! 🦁

Social and fellowship at 6:30pm
Regular membership meeting at 7:00pm.

Our Zimmerman Area Lions Club 🦁 Member Spotlight
for this month is ⭐ Jim Bonine ⭐

🟦 How are you affiliated with the Zimmerman Area?
🟨 We have lived in Zimmerman the last fourteen years. Melanie and I started our family here in the 90’s before returning this last time.

🟦 What is one thing you love about the Zimmerman Area Community?
🟨 I like the small town feel of Zimmerman and how people are willing to help another person out.

🟦 What is your "why" for joining the Zimmerman Area Lions Club?
🟨 I use to Volunteer as Police Reserve Officer. It was nice to see the difference you can make in people’s lives by helping in small ways. Now I can do that again but do it with my family members.

🟦 What have you enjoyed most about being a Lion?
🟨 Working with people who want to help others.

🟦 What is a fun fact about you? 🤓
🟨 I am retired Police Officer, I received two Stork pins for delivering two babies.

🟦 What Lion’s Service Project have you worked on and why was it meaningful to you?
🟨 Breakfast with the Easter Bunny was the most meaningful project to me. This was our first big project as a club that I worked. It was fun to work with the team.

Some of our fantastic 🦁Lions spent some of their weekend cleaning up the parks around the Zimmerman area for 🌎Earth Day.

With Earth Day tomorrow, we’d love to hear and see what you guys are doing to celebrate.

The Zimmerman Area Lions Club members collected 70 lbs of food at our March meeting to support our local food shelf, Passing the Bread! 🥫🍝🌽🫘

Through the end of March we are holding a community-wide food drive! Donate your non-perishable food items to one of the three collection sites in town:

First National Bank of Milaca - Zimmerman Branch

for this month is our, Lion Tamer, ⭐ George Young ⭐

What is a Lion Tamer? 🤔
Responsible for club property (such as flags, banners, gavels, etc.). The Lion Tamer also keeps
order at meetings and distributes materials at meetings.

🟦 How are you affiliated with the Zimmerman Area?
🟨 I moved to Zimmerman in 2007 during my last year of college and have been here ever since.

🟦 What is one thing you love about the Zimmerman Area Community?
🟨 Seeing the people come together to support others in need.

🟦 What is your "why" for joining the Zimmerman Area Lions Club?
🟨 To be involved and help the local community more.

🟦 What have you enjoyed most about being a Lion?
🟨 Working with the club on events, meeting new people and helping the community.

🟦 What is a fun fact about you? 🤓
🟨 My wife and I enjoy traveling around the country on a motorcycle.

🟦 What Lion’s Service Project have you worked on and why was it meaningful to you?
🟨 Earth Day, the Lions spent time cleaning up at the local parks around the Zimmerman area. Being someone who uses the local parks and trails to walk the dog or get out for some exercise, it is always nice to see our local public areas clean for all to enjoy.

Interested in helping the community but don't know where to start?

Join us at our meeting, tomorrow night at 7, to learn more about what it means to be a lion!

You can also join us at our Breakfast with the Easter Bunny on Sunday at the Zimmerman American Legion.

We are also collecting food for Passing the Bread all month. You can find drop off locations for those at ZMarket, Hudson Hardware, and First National Bank of Milaca - Zimmerman Branch. There will also be collection boxes at our event on Sunday!
