About MDHA - Michigan Duck Hunters Assoc. The Michigan Duck Hunters Association was incorporated as a non-profit corporation under the statutes of the State of Michigan in 1971. In addition to the North American Waterfowl Federation, MDHA is affiliated with the Michigan United Conservation Clubs – the largest state organization of sportspersons in the nation. The purposes for which MDHA was formed
are:
to promote, perpetuate, and enhance the sport of waterfowling in the Mississippi Flyway, and particularly within the State of Michigan;
to preserve and protect the natural environment conducive to the protection, feeding, and breeding of waterfowl, including, but not limited to, the preservation of natural marshlands and the elimination of pollution;
to conduct educational programs in conservation, sportsmanship, and waterfowling;
to conduct educational programs in the use of shotguns and rifles as sport and recreational equipment;
to study, advise, recommend, and secure the enactment of legislation in the interest of conservation and the sport of waterfowling;
to promote social and recreational outlets for the members during their leisure time. MDHA’s Bylaws state that the Association shall be a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to the sport of waterfowling and the perpetuation of all waterfowl species in abundance. The Association’s objectives are:
1. to preserve and improve the sport of waterfowling, particularly in the State of Michigan;
2. to preserve, respect, and protect the natural environment conducive to the protection, feeding, and reproduction of all waterfowl species;
3. to conduct educational programs related to waterfowl, conservation, sportsmanship, and hunter and boating safety;
4. to study, advise, recommend, and secure enactment of legislation in the interest of waterfowl perpetuation and waterfowl hunting;
5. to cooperate, when appropriate, with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, sportsmen, or other sportsmen’s organizations to conserve and protect the natural environment and all wildlife
