Campaign Update!

We're 57% of the way to our goal!

Thank you to everyone who has chosen to be someone's “one.”

We're not finished yet—but every gift is helping bring hope, education, and care to children who need it most.

It takes one.

Change doesn't always begin in a classroom.

Sometimes, it begins with one person willing to say yes.

We're grateful for leaders like Sothea, who are helping build the foundation for One 17 International Cambodia. Sothea is a member of our “founding team,” a group of leaders commissioned to establish our organization and pave the way for serving students in the next few months!

It just takes one.

It Takes One Invitation
During our youth camp in Cambodia this summer, Ben noticed a young girl walking past the church gate.

She had passed by several times the day before, quietly watching from a distance. Curious. Interested. Unsure if she belonged.

When Ben introduced himself, she shared that she was 12 years old and the oldest child in her family. While her parents worked, she spent most of her days caring for her younger siblings. There wasn't much time to simply be a kid.

Ben smiled and said something simple: "You're welcome here."

That afternoon, she came back.

She sang, laughed, played games, learned about Jesus, and spent the afternoon surrounded by people who welcomed her with open arms. Her only regret was not finding the courage to come sooner.

One invitation gave her the chance to experience joy, belonging, and hope.

Sometimes, it takes just one invitation to change someone's story.

It takes one.

One person. One opportunity. One act of kindness.

This month, we're sharing stories of hope from Haiti and Cambodia that remind us how one simple "yes" can change a child's future. The “It Takes One” campaign is focused on raising awareness and resources to send 675 students back to school.

Please consider contributing $148 x __ students to help us kick off the new school year strong.

Why help? Because every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and dream.

It just takes one.

Looking back on a special time in Cambodia.

We loved getting to serve alongside local communities, connect with incredible families, and see a little glimpse of what God is doing there.

So grateful for the people we met, the relationships built, and the ways God continues to move around the world.

Because of you…

Students will receive meals.
Students will grow in faith.
Students will have the opportunity to learn, focus, and thrive.

You didn’t just give.
You helped restore dignity.
You helped bring hope.
You helped quiet the sound of hunger.

We are so grateful.
Thank you for being part of this story. 🙌

During recess, Jean-Louis fell while running.

At first, it seemed like a simple accident.
But it led to something deeper.
A conversation revealed there was more going on beneath the surface.

Moments like these remind us:
Every child has a story.
Every child needs care.
Every child deserves to be seen.

This is why we do what we do.

When Leïda's mom passed away, she stopped going to church.

She became sick, often. She tried everything she could find. Nothing helped.

Then she had a dream. Her mom came to her and told her to visit a pastor. She went. He prayed for her. She got better.

Around that same time, her teachers at school were praying for her too, talking with her about faith, and encouraging her to be courageous.

Today, Leïda loves history because it helps her understand when her country became free. She wants to be a nurse so she can give people their health back.

She said she wants to see every child in Haiti have access to education and every student participate in church.

She is one of many kids in Haiti whose life is being shaped inside and outside the classroom.

For years, she walked into school carrying a weight most of us will never understand.

During Bible time, the spiritual battles were visible. Her teachers prayed over her. They stayed close. They believed for her healing.

Last weekend, she was baptized.

The same girl who once struggled in that classroom stood in the water and chose new life.

We are in awe of what God does when His people refuse to give up on someone.

In Cambodia, a mother never had the chance to finish school. At just 8 years old, her education ended. But her story didn’t.

Today, she is a mother of three, working tirelessly to support her family through whatever means she can find. Despite health challenges, she remains committed to one thing: her daughters’ future.

Her oldest daughter is now in school, already further than her mother was ever able to go. Every day, she comes home excited to show her mom what she learned. And her mother beams with pride.

She displays her daughter's schoolwork around their home, a daily reminder of hope, dignity, and possibility.

Hunger doesn't just affect one generation. It can shape many.

But education, care, and support can change everything.
