Michigan Bass Nation circuit wrapped up the team trail circuits on Muskegon Lake from August 29 & 30.

On Saturday, Cameron Fuller & Caden Terpstra placed 11th weighing in 10.25 lbs. Deacon Nyland & Isaiah Blattner came in 12th with 10.14 lbs. Emmet Shankel & Karstyn Wilson finished in 22nd with 6.52 lbs.

Sunday's tournament was a little tougher on all the anglers. Cameron Fuller & Caden Terpstra finished in 12th place with 7.59 lbs.

In the H.S. Division - Brant Salisbury finished in 9th with 5.44 lbs. Aubree Bouwkamp came in 11th with 4.78 lbs.

Final results for H.S. AOY is an accumulative total from the 4 season tournaments. Top finishers were Aubree Bouwkamp & Caden Terpstra finishing 9th with 110 pts. Leo Kusek & Navin Elizalde were 22nd with 81 pts. Brant Salisbury was 23rd with 72 pts. Cameron Fuller & Zach Gritter were 28th with 68 pts. Trenton Nyland & Tyler Smith were 32nd with 49 pts. Deacon Nyland & Isaiah Blattner were 38th with 42 pts.

In the M.S. Division - Mason Betancourt fishing solo and Colin Muilenburg & Gavin Vroegindewey finished 8th.

Shoreline Bass Tour - Youth Division Classic on White Lake on September 5. We had 11 teams compete.
In the H.S. Division, Caleb & Ethan VanKoevering came in 7th place with 11.32 lbs. Cameron Fuller & Zach Gritter were right behind them in 9th place with 10.75 lbs. Deacon Nyland & Isaiah Blattner finished in 11th place with 9.96 lbs. Leo Kusek & Navin Elizalde placed 14th with 7.49 lbs. Jack Van Dis & Caleb Marsman finished 24th with 2.02 lbs.

Final results for H.S. AOY is an accumulative total from the 5 season tournaments. Top finishers were Caleb & Ethan VanKoevering finishing 17th with 329 pts. Jack Van Dis & Caleb Marsman placed 19th with 325 pts. Leo Kusek & Navin Elizalde finished 32nd with 230 pts. Cameron Fuller & Zach Gritter were 35th with 183 pts. Colten Redder & Logan Vanderpoppen were 37th with 172 pts. Caden Terpstra was 38th with 170 pts. Deacon Nyland & Isaiah Blattner were 39th with 166 pts. Brody Westrate & Austin Bomers were 41st with 165 pts. Aubree Bouwkamp & Jaidon Spencer were 47th with 96 pts. Emmet Shankel & Karstyn Wilson were 50th with 82 pts.

In the M.S. Division we had three teams finished first, second and third. Brad Hillard & Karsen Schaapman redeemed their 2nd place finish from last year with a first place championship bringing in a whopping 15.64 lbs. and Big Bass weighing 4.13 lbs. Jaxton Zeerip & Tobe Lemmer came in 2nd place with 15.17 lbs. Colin Muilenburg & Gavin Vroegindewey finished third with 12.61 lbs. and 2nd BIG BASS 4.09 lbs. only 0.04 off the 1st place big bass! Mason Bettencourt fishing solo came in 19th with 2.39 lbs.

Final results for M.S. AOY is an accumulative total from the 5 season tournaments. Top finishers were Brad Hillard & Karsen Schaapman finishing 2nd with 464 pts. Colin Muilenburg & Gavin Vroegindewey were right behind them in 3rd with 463 pts. Jaxton Zeerip & Tobe Lemmer were 6th with 392 pts. Charlie Reifsnyder & Andrew Coursey were 9th with 288 pts. Brock Nieves & Wyn Dokter were 16th with 255 pts. Cowen Dohrman & Max Van Dis were 19th with 185 pts. Gabe Graham & Brodie Postma were 29th with 83 pts.

We wrapped up our 2026 season with an awards banquet. Congratulations to Trenton Nyland and Tyler Smith for winning the Nathan Wilson Memorial Scholarship. They both received a check for $500 and their name on a plaque that will proudly be displayed at the Holland Fish and Game club.

Deacon Nyland and Max Van Dis won the Jeff Homkes Most Improved Angler. Which was presented by Forest Brown who was Jeff's long time tournament partner and good friend. All winners were presented $100 gift certificates to the Outdoorsmen Pro Shop.

We recognized our 5 seniors Trenton Nyland, Holden Markoski, Tayven Prince, Brock Walters and Krishtian Caniff with a bass fishing collage of their career with the Fishhawx.

Trenton Nyland & Tyler Smith competed in the 2026 Bassmaster H.S. National Championship on Kentucky Lake from July 30 - August 1. Although they didn't finish as well as they would have liked, we are extremely proud of the focus, drive and effort that it took to get to the highest level in competitive H.S. bass fishing.

This year's Lunker Squad winner was Rogen Koorndyk with a 6 lb 11oz largemouth. He received a spinning rod/reel combo. All the other members received $50 gift certificates to The Outdoorsmen. Other winners were Russell Schuiling – 6 lbs 7 oz and Rogen Koorndyk - 5 lbs 12 oz.

I want to give a huge thank you to Mike & Dawn Louwsma for hosting the banquet, Marc Shankel & the Holland Fish & Game club for all of their support and Melissa Mankowski- VanderVelde, Matthew Colvin and Brian Dobrinski for helping make the banquet happen.

Shoreline Bass Tour - Youth Division Stop #5 on Muskegon Lake. Final stop for this awesome circuit was a bit of a grind for most of our teams. We had 4 H.S. in a field of 41 and 6 M.S. out of 27 teams competing. Congratulations to all our M.S. teams. All of them finished in the Top 10. We have some young hammers coming up.

We have two amazing anglers competing in the Bassmaster High School Championship. Trenton Nyland and Tyler Smith are not only great anglers, but they are anglers we are glad are representing us at the national level. They are a great example of class, respect, hard work ethic, and leadership we hope all of our Fishhawx anglers will model. We are so proud of their hard work to be able to qualify for the national event. We have a lot of great anglers in the state of Michigan, to be among the best of them is an outstanding accomplishment. Good luck today!

The Zeeland Fishhawx competed for the 4th Shoreline Bass Tour - Youth Division tournament on the Grand River. The amazing tournament directors were able to reschedule the tournament after having to cancel the tournament last week due to the terrible air quality conditions. Shout out to Ron Scharphorn with Grand Haven Bassmasters for helping reduce the ramp fees for the tournament. Our team does an amazing job raising money from the help of our amazing sponsors. Every little bit helps us be able to support our anglers for as many tournaments as possible.

The Grand River fished tough for our anglers. Our anglers continue to learn more each tournament. I know a lot of teams did not do as well as they hoped. “I’d like to dedicate this award to the losers. Because I tell you from my own experience, winning is one thing but out of losing I always learned more for the future. So I got stronger in losing.” -Niki Lauda. I think Niki was very true in his statement, I think having a tough tournament can drive you to work harder for the next one.

#2 of the MBN Youth Division was up at Hubbard Lake. Weather was all over the place both days — sun, rain, and wind.

We had two teams out there:
Deacon Nyland & Isaiah Blattener, and Caden Terpstra & Cameron Fuller.

**Day 1:**
- Deacon & Isaiah – 21.49 (2nd place)
- Caden & Cameron – 11.75 (16th)

**Day 2:**
- Deacon & Isaiah – 20.80 (4th)
- Caden & Cameron – 2.28 (27th)

There were 40 teams that took to the water in the H.S. Division. We had 3 teams in the top 10.
