Pike County Backpack Program

Pike County Backpack Program Student Food Ministry Pike County Backpack Program is a nonprofit organization which sends snacks and meals home with students in the Pike County School System.

The program was started by a collaboration of local churches and thrives with the support of volunteers like you! Each week, students receive a 2 gallon zip lock bag of food consisting of meals and snacks as well as a bookmark with scripture or an inspirational message. Donations can be made through Zebulon First Baptist Church by selecting fund: Backpack Program of Pike County. https://www.zfbc.

Santa's elves were busy tonight packing one more bag of food for PC students in the backpack program.

They are such loving individuals who faithfully come out on a cold night to serve others!

Thank you to Mark and Mary Nalls who grow turnip greens and collards and give them away every year near Thanksgiving. They ask for donations to charities. The Pike County weekend Food program for PC students was one of those charities. With Mark and Mary's matching donation, they gave $600 to the backpack program!
They are such a blessing!

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.

Wow! I was overwhelmed with gratitude when I checked our backpack bin behind our church this morning. It was so full, the lid wouldn't even close. Thank you to all who dropped off food items.!

The Government shut down has apparently affected supplies of local food banks. Logging into the one Backpack relies on revealed practically nothing available for students.

Please consider donating to the Backpack Weekend Food ministry for Pike students.

It is so wonderful to open that bin and see it full of food many have dropped off. ❤
